Alright Im going to do some trading on this match as with the weather this morning the Draw has shortened too much so Im starting with that, will post my trades here to hopefully make $$$$

Odds - Aust $1.68, Eng $6.40, Draw $3.95

1st bet -

LAY draw to win $100- risking $295-

Status -
Aus +$100.00
Eng +$100.00
Draw -$295.00

If the Aussies go through a few this morning the lay off opportunity will be there, thats what Im hoping for, if not Im pretty confident this game wont be a draw, forecast is good for the rest of the test

Would it not have been better to back the draw @$3.95, & then lay the draw as it came in (due to rain)?

No as I believe the Draw will drift, it was only that short as the rain was around this morning, in fact by the time they got on the field it was out to $4.10, so I could have made a profit before the game started...tough batting conditions hoping the poms lose a couple more wickets for bugger all and then Im OK...

Great work dutchy! Really showing us a thing or too about low risk punting...AG take note!!!!!
Fancy the draw being that short, actually thought with the way teh game is played these days with both teams taking wickets in the last test that a result either way was more likely, even given the forecast.

great punting dutchy....Aussies dont play in to many draws..... with their fast scoring and good bowling attack only weather will stop them.... especially on a deck like that!!!!

Thanks Lads, cricket is great for trading, have made some good money from it lately, the Draw was always too short and as AG said the Aussies rarely play in draws, if you had layed the draw over the last 3-4 years in any game the Aussies played you would be well ahead.

Not sure what to do today so might just see how the game pans out in the first session...

alright, game hasnt ebbed and flowed on Day 2 so no opportunities...Im going to Lay Australia, only costs me $15- to return $150-....just think they are a little short at $1.10 and if England have a good start with their batting they will drift and again I can trade to make some more $$$$

Bet 3 -

Lay Aust to win risking $15- to win $150-

Status
Aust +$70.00
Eng +$235.00
Draw +$172.74

Very clever dutchy. can this be done regularly or is it a rare thing?

As the game changes course, you can back against the tide- so I wouldn't say it's rare, but only applicable to multi-day sports (Test match Cricket, Tennis, Golf etc..).
Correct me if I'm wrong Dutchy.

well cant see the draw occuring now so have made a small adjustment laying the draw for $6- as its better in my pocket than someone elses.

Bet 4 -

Lay the Draw @ $26-

risking $150- to win $6-

Status
Aust +$76.00
Eng +$241.00
Draw +$22.74

Cricket is probably the best for it also as Punk said Golf is great as well...you need a sport than has a number of outcomes and can fluctuate a fair bit, obviously need to pick the right bet/lay, have a bit of luck and money management skills.

An example -

You and me are sitting at the pub and you reckon the test match will be a draw, I say it wont be and I agree to take your bet @ $4-00 for $100-...Im risking $300- to win $100- and you vice versa.....now at the end of Day one the Draw on the TAB is now showing $20- as 13 wickets have fallen...so while I can keep risking the draw occuring I can sell my bet on the TAB and put $20 @ $20- so Ive now got -

if draw occurs i pay you $300- but get $380- from TAB...still $80- profit
if draw doesnt happen i get your $100-, less the $20- TAB bet... a $80- profit

a no lose situation

On betfair you match bets with others, they are not a bookie.....so you can trade odds very similar to the stock market...hope this makes sense

well $76-00 profit for the test match, basically risk free, so happy with that considering it went under 3 days.

Will definately be laying the draw again for Sydney...no way this game will be played out in a boring draw, even England wont want that...

AG - have you been back Australia each test? All up for the 4 tests your money would be paying nearly $6-00
