Yes its true..... racing in all codes is killing the pig in WA at the minute......plenty of money around and amazing what can happen when things are run properly..... I bet there not taking each other to court and wasting valuable money.
Any one got anythoughts how we seem to be going backwards and WA are full staem ahead.... 25,000 at a trot meet ...FFS.... .....How many at Ascot today?????

predicting 40-50,000 at Ascto today and at the dogs last night (Cannington) they had 4-5,000...they had people right around to the catching pen....amazing

think the only chance we have is to merge all racing codes with WA and run our meetings in Perth!!!

Having experienced life and racing in perth, the NEW YEARS EVE at Gloucester Park is HUGE, as you have all seen with the massive crowd in attendance.

They probably got more last night then we will on inter final night.

the industry in WA has gone from being the last resort to almost 2nd/3rd in line behind melbourne and sydney.

The prizemoney they have across ALL 3 CODES is astronomical!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another thing to remember is over in the west they still publish TABFORM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the TAB was going to stop it as it was operating at a loss but the punters protested strongly and they got it out of the grave!!!!!!! it is an outstanding publication. they have 3 editions. Monday-tuesday, a wednesday-thursday and a bumper friday-sat-sun edition which has FULL FORM for every meeting that the WA TAB covers and its only around $1!!!!!!

all the TAB outlets and pubtabs have official greyhound race books, and the way that it is set out is OUTSTANDING and you can access it through the wa greyhound site. its a must if you punt on the WA DOGS.

getting off racing but onto the TAB side of things, they have a bet type called favourite numbers which is pretty much lotto for horses. they have it wednesday and saturdays. tuesday nights and friday nights they allocate a race to a number and generally operate on the first 5 races in every state and you need the favourite to win the race for the number to be a winning one.

they also have footy punt, but not 1-12 but 1-3 which is a bit dodgy!!!!

the other good thing they have is a footy tip8 - just AFL
footy tip 11 all afl and wafl games except friday night
footy tip 12 which is all afl and wafl games, some of these pools are quite big!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the other thing with WA is the first race is at around 9:30am and the last is around 9pm.

if you want to become a PROFESSIONAL its the place to be

THE only negative but this is from the government and will be introduced here is they are not allowing betfair into the state, so we cant bet on the good things at cannington!!!!

as long as we wouldn't have to give up Punitab dutchy....

Hows in the race book from Gawler...and advert in there says...."The future of SA Racing is in your hands. Bet Local".............. FFS pull your head out your ass and give us some reason to punt local..... coz currently all of my loot is heading across the Bass Straight!!!!!!!!!

i think you will find that W.A has none of those vacum cleaners of misery called poker machines.
look at all the states that have and there's the answer.
gambling dollar no matter how small stretches only so far.
