Quick question on interpreting UK-style odds.

Postby westozfalcon » Sun Jan 07, 2007 1:16 pm

Just out of curiosity how would a really short quote of 2/7 read in dollars in cents?

If you divide 2 by 7 it comes to roughly 0.28. So would I be right in assuming that you add this to the $1 investment giving a return of $1.28? I've never understood properly how to interpret those older style short prices.

Can any of you fellas explain this to me?

Top work bayman I appreciate it!

Actually if those Japanese horses like Delta Blues & Pop Rocks start coming down for the spring carnival more often we may well need a Yen conversion table!!
