WORLD TRACKS
--------------------

Been to a few around the globe and mainly remember the transportation to the tracks.

WIMBLEDON in England 1985, the boxes are on the outside of the track there, box 1 is the widest lid.
Dog fields were 6, bookies used a chalk and blackboard.
Delightful place, natives helpful, had chats with the bookies and had a beer with them
after the races concluded.
They took all of my $$$$

CONNETICUT u.s.a. 1981 several times in my travels, superb set up.
Similar to Aust. tracks
Lost heeps there but had fun
First time I was driven there was a harrowing experience, a relative drove me there
a man in his 50s who kept snoozing at the wheel, i had to talk to him throughout!!!!!!!!
tote only

ARKANSAW 1991
Wife and I were in Memphis for the Mud Island music day festival and that evening had
tea and met a couple of pensioners.
They asked what we would like to see and off course I said " Is there dog races tonight"
Sure as hell we drove over the border to the Arkansaw dogs.
The ride there was nerve racking the elderly lady said this about 3/4 the way there
" My husband is enjoying life after his 3 heart attacks....."
The set up at Arkansaw was the best, private window tables, waitresses, free formguides.
I won stacks and by race 8 was several hundred USD in front.
There was a query on the formguide so I asked the driver what It meant.
What I found out made me laugh , i was studying the formguide as I would in an Australian
formguide, excepting the form was printed in reverse.
Yes I was reading the last start as the start 8 starts ago, all night
My joy and profit, became insignificant when we drove home...heart attack 4 ????
tote only

TIJUANA 1991 Mexico
Caught a cab with the wife in 1991, another nervous ride, i had not thought driving
on footpaths was allowed....
That ride was the scariest, worse then Adelaide taxi drivers.
The track was modern and clean.
The public were dirty and mean and mighty unclean.
They were all interested in the blonde wife, we lasted 2 races and left.
I lost those 2 races, but kept the wife
tote only

ANGLE PARK the most distressful of all, met MT79+Rooburger in 2005

EARLY MAL
------------

R5-3 LUCKY TRUMP good 600m debut 2nd, with a clean getaway a good QU/EX chance.
R8-8 KID DAKOTA will go close so a WIN bet + a saver on QU/EX = 8/1-2 + 8/2 again.

Good luck all
Anyone have some sTories of overseas dog tracks?

HELMSMAN trained by the none other than Con Haagmans.
Had 2 runs here for Con in SA was a former bush Victorian hound
4TH[4] AP
1ST[4] APD in 30-38 a handy day win, might improve into a fair dog

Plenty of early pace in race 9, HELMSMAN lobbed 2nd last week and won
It was a day meeting and the times are about 2 lengths slower those meetings.
Has claims if starts.

i think the dog will be about $1.60 on the tote, but i have rated it at $3 because the last time it raced twice in 4 days as it is tonight, it was slowish out. the thing in its favour tonight is the fact that there arent too many quick beginners.

if miss scarlet could find her best form she would win
