VIC + NSW TAB are offering a new promotion called Power Play.
On selected dates punters will be offered a 10% better on the TAB win dividend.
Currently the commission taken by Supertab is 14-5% of win bets per $1
Under the new promotion the TAB will skim off 8-55 % and take out 5-95% only.
The promotion on VICtab is on JAN 26/27/28 FEB3/4
On NSWtab on FEB10/11/17/18/25

This is a magnificent promotion.
One gets the feeling that with BETFAIR gobbling up the $$$$$ that the TABs
will now compete at BETFAIRS level on this short term action.
BOOKMAKERS will also need to re-evualuate thier contingency plans as well.
PUNITAB zzzzzzzzzzz

this will challenge PUNITAB big time...seriously doubt that they could afford to match this promotion, but can they afford NOT to match it???

all good news for punters though...might even force PUNITABS hand and get gobbled up by one of the other TABS....sends up a prayer...

PUNITAB have done that before in the past but they very very rarely do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BETFAIR is probably the best thing to happen to the betting industry in this country

Mal - have been reading up on this and the reason they are doing it is due to the money they are making.. the tabs have a max 16% overall % they can take in a year.. NSW and STAB are currently running @ 17 - 18%.. so they need to get it down or face huge fines.. they have decided to do it this way and get their overall turnover % down to 16% for the year = smart thinking and a good way to repay the punter for all the money we put in!!

I will tell you why we joined PUNITAB.
So the biggest professional punters could open up SUPERTAB
accounts and invest there instead.
And we lose that turnover.
And the race clubs get less back from commisions.
And stakemoneys can stagnate or fall.
And we can pay the consultants REPUTEDLY about 50% of the sale price.

country town had 2 or 3 small trainers where are they now ! Nearly everyone on the commitee at SAJC had horses with these big trainers they really looked after themselves now they squeal the hardest still happening .Remember horse called
Mohammed Sheik WTFHNI didnt like it so they had to change it to Hammed to show respect Feathering there own nest at the worst it has all come home to Roost now
