sportsbet DOES IT AGAIN

Postby mal » Sun Feb 11, 2007 8:28 pm

I rang up at 8-14 to get a bet on EG at $1-75 v AU when 4/53
I was put on hold until 8-17
As they answered my call HUSSEY gets out EG $1-35

3 minutes waiting time what a chamozzle.

My 3 main bookies Betfair, Centrebet and IASbet all were betting in the run on the final...why not PUNI? Id hate to be a sharesolder in them as they could make a mint if they offered service, instead they lose business...mind you we are all probably shareholders indirectly though our Super funds!!!

Multis

Postby Plunge Penguin » Fri Mar 02, 2007 9:58 pm

I can't complain too much, as I have two reasonable multis going at the minute...took a Jockey Challenge on Hugh Bowman today at Canterbury ($3.80) into Craig Newitt ($10 at the time, now $8.50) into tomorrow's Caulfield meeting. Bowman got the choccys today (Albeit thanks to a late pick up ride from the recalcitrant Chris Munce), so hoping Newitt can jag tomorrow to land a $38 double.

The other was a bit bolder - Brisbane in tonight's NBL game ($1.45 - won by 3 points), into Kim Felton in the Johnnie Walker Classic. He was $201 when I backed him, thought his first round was reasonable. Field has just finished day two, he is now -6 after a second round 68, to place him 4 strokes off the lead at the halfway mark. Looking for a $291 double on that one now, so will be a touch nervous going into the last two rounds. Mind you, last week, had a 4 leg multi: Geelong +39.5/Haw -39.5/Freo -39.5/ Jose Cecere in the golf at $191. I didn't find out until the next day that Cecere got rolled in a playoff

Inadvertently doubled up, however, taking Brisbane Lions in tonights AFL at the +28.5 on offer, also in Craig Newitt tomorrow (at $16.50)...so a bit riding on Newitt's shoulders now!!

For the canny punters, take a Syd/Perth Jockey Challenge tomorrow; Zac Purton is great value at the $7.00 on offer, and Brown in Ascot at $9.50 represents fantastic value - makes it $67.50 for the dollar unit. If you want to get really brave, take a saver on S.King in Melbourne thrown in at the $4.50 to make it the total of $301.50 for the $1.

Went to take your advice this afternoon on the Johnnie Walker, seeing what Goosen was paying...$2.50?!?!. Way, way too short for someone who often fails to finish off latter rounds. Even Oliver Wilson, despite leading by two shots, was a little short for me for a near unknown. Saw that Felton was still an amazing $81, despite being only 4 off the pace. Will see how it goes in that respect...
