well we had comic relief at the trotts tonight with the protest in race 2, the driver of the 4th horse (tiffany lee) protested against the 2nd horse no 1 for using the sprint lane & knocking down 1 peg infact scd rang me to find out what was going on i told him & he laughed & said 'well i'm safe then' hey tiff, when you sit behind the leader you ARE ALLOWED to use the sprintlane to quote ag wadh.

at gawler last night (friday) there were no prices coming in from the interstate meetings which is puzzling as you can get them at the auditorium one pro-punter (rd) said 'unfortuneately i wont be back i'll be going to the aud where i can get the prices & i dont have pay to get in or for petrol as it is only down the road, also while sky was on you could not hear it as the activities on course was being broadcast to all on course, this is like it is in victoria they are only worried about themselves & no one else'

now for dammarrell,

point 1, in race 5 the winner was backed oncourse from 14/1 into 4/1 may_z & myself watched pd's face as he walked back to the ring, i'd say he looked ghastly, shocked & shattered.
what did you think may_z ?

point 2, pd did not bet on the interstate meetings tonight, that's a way of not creating turnover

point 3, in race 6 we had the word for no 4 in that it was expected to go very close but anyway pd opened up 4.00 (tote 4.60) so may_z & myself put in $50 each to have on it & we got there the same time as bandic he took bandic's $400 but refused our $100   :? :? :? well we ended up $50 better of each

point 4, poor ben harding didn't quite know the rules as in race 9 he went up to have a crack at the winner no 10 which opened 2.20 pd told him he could have a grand on it so he did but when another reader of this site (hello js--mals mate) said to him about the limits etc & added he could have had 3,000/2,500 as that is the limit poor ben looked shattered & you could see him counting up in his head how much he missed out on

point 5, may_z loses 50 cents & is estatic

i hope all did well on the punt cullton was a very good result for me

T Lee - joke.. we spoke tonight - I was amazed when there was a protest.. but money was safe - got $2 the place about the 1 in race 2.. good result...

Now PD - race 5 was a gift price, I would've backed it at that price over 1800m.. I thought it would be outside the 1 or in the 1/1 at worst.. - mind you I backed the 1 a place, so couldn't complain....

Ben Harding - well that's just stiff and JS (I think he may know the rules better then PD himself) is correct to question PD on what was going on.. that is disgraceful.. Ben should have gone and complained - because if you're not willing to take a bet, don't field on the meeting you idiot.....

I had a good night tonight - basically bet the place all night and had some really good collects, from the 7 in the first, right through to the 2 in the trot (just wish i'd had some e/w @$19) - but good to see we can still make a profit on them... even if it was just getting back some of what I lost on Essendon today!!

I would have thought the Bookmakers risk was Less than $3000 per bet but i could be wrong.
Bookmakers risks always used to be printed in the racebooks. Anyone got one handy to check?

About PD not not betting on interstate meetings, Even though u can get the odds at the audi on Friday night, the bookies there dont bet on them anyway    :? :? :?

I know its a good night out at GDP
I roll up to catch up occasionally with friends
But in all seriousness its a waste of time betting with Peter Dammerell
Well I mean hes way way too clever
He always has the knack of having his SPs below TAB starting prices !!!!

GAWLER FRIDAY NIGHT

SPs...TAB

6-00...24-90
4-60.....4-60
2-50.....2-70
2.50.....2-20
5-50.....5-50
2-00.....2-80
1-10.....1-30
2-00.....2-60
4-00.....4-90

PD better in 1 race
PD equal 2 races
TAB better6 races

GDP STAURDAY NIGHT

3-00....4-80
1-40...1-70
1-60...1-90
2-40...2-10
5-00...8-50
6-00...7-30
14-00..28-70
1-08...1-10
1-30...1-60
2-50...4-30

PD better in 1 race
TAB better in 9 races

SEE MY DRIFT hes too clever

AND THEY ARE HIS WIN ONLY SPs
IF WE TOOK HIS EW SPs they would be even lower

How can I a proffessional punter expect to bet with him
I sit home with SUPERTAB/UNITAB/NSWTAB/BETFAIR and and absolutely miles
in front on the value betting on my my 4 options

How can I bet with PD
Who opens up 170% win markets
Who opens up 190% each way markets
Who hides behind the TAB odds

PD is there to pinch a few $$$$ from the mugs
I cant beat him because of the extravagent %

Whilst I cant blame PD for the way he operates[he is there to win] he does
very little to stimulate on course patronage.

The limit for GDP saturday nights is $2000 i reckon
Gawler might be $1200 ????
I dont bet that big so I not sure.

jj, in last nights race book it says for saturday nights, the bookmakers risk is $3,000.00 for the locals & $2,000.00 for other races (other races he did not bet on   )

pd certainly didnt look to healthy on his way back inside, but if he had some guts in the next race he could have had an extra hundred from mine and baymans wallet, but luckily bayman doesnt move as well as he used too.

i manged to lose 50cents to bayman as a result of the close photo between malhanna destroyer and alledged interest, byaman knew his angles on that one but i was happy to pay as it meant i had the exacta for a unit and it would ahve paid more if bayman hadnt taken his share of the div as well- its amazing what a good driver does for a horses chances hey mal
