STEWARDS have opened an inquiry into the scratching of Berella Diva from the Gold Coast on Sunday.
Berella Diva had drawn box two in race two, a heat of the Eric Thomson Memorial Maiden series.
A phone call was made to the Gold Coast Club with a scratching mid-morning on Sunday.
The club subsequently notified steward Gail Thorsby on her arrival at the track. The TAB was informed of the scratching as per standard procedure.
However, trainer Ron Ball presented Berella Diva at kennelling for his race committment. Ball emphatically denied he had scratched the dog, and Thorsby immediately contacted the TAB in an attempt to have Berella Diva reinstated.
The TAB was unable to reinstate the dog.
Stewards, at close of kennelling, found that the greyhound Bank Boss, engaged in race three, box two, failed to appear and was subsequerntly a late scratching.
Further investigations are on-going.
so who is running the show, the greyhound club or the PUNITAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
