Now i know we all have punting stories but I thought Id share this one with you....when the lines came out on Wednesday I saw Richmond +39.5 at some places and I put $200- on it straight away thinking it would shorten and I could have a chance to middle or simply lay off for a profit before the game starts...i never intended to let the bet ride....anyway some lines had it +37.5 by Friday but it was only a 2 point "middle" so I decided to lay off the bet and lose a little to get my $200- back....I Looked around and Sportsbet had Port -40.5 @ $2-00 which meant I wouldnt lose if this occured BUT then realised that taking +39.5 and -40.5 left me esposed to Port winning by 40 points (unlikely but possible) and I would lose both bets $400-....I nearly said stuff it they wont land right on 40 points!!!...but then saw their over 39.5 points was at $1.95....so I would lose $10- but would cover all results to get my $200- outlay back....so I put the bet on
What happened? Port won by 40 points!!!...If I had risked it I would have lost $400-
...instead I lost $10-
...thank go I thought with my head for a change and covered all possibilities...if I hadnt it would have been onw of the worst bad beats I had ever had!!!
