Can you win Gambling ?
I have a few punting Malmaxims that have stood the test of time.
But Im interested in how others have succeeded in gambling.

Sometimes working out how not to lose is also a good stratergy

On this site Ive seen some clever postings
The 94% Showdown
The SA/NA cant lose bet with a betting firm
Those 2 in particular in recents times were cant lose posts

Then there are the other good money spinners, like the LATE MAL
THE LATE MAL in its infancy is standing the test of time, but time will tell.

I open this forum topic and will try and adjudicate each post on its merits.
All forms of gambling and modes of gambling can be discussed.

So how do you win or lose .....

never CHAAAAAARRRGE AT ANYTHING unless you are 100% in thinking that it deserves your money.

no matter what you bet on, i believe you should set out a market and bet accordingly against the bookie or the tote, never take anything less then your assessment.

set aside a punting bank and keep the cash separate from daily life...

Never ever bet more than 5% of your bank in one bet, a sure way to go broke if you do, my rule is I stick to 3% of my bank 95% of the time....

If you had a bank of $1000[thats a $50 max imum bet] what would you do in this case :

YOU WERE OFFERED $2-50 ON A TOSS OF A COIN
YOU WERE OFFERED $2-50 RED OR BLACK ON THE ROULETTE WHEEL
YOU WERE OFFERED $2-00 WEST COAST V RICHMOND IN PERTH IN ROUND 20

Would you increase your ratio bet of 5% ?

I think you need to look at your opening comment
" NEVER EVER BET MORE THAN 5% OF YOUR BANK IN ONE BET."
Should it be :
" ALWAYS TRY AND BET WITH 5 % OF YOU BANK, UNLESS A GIFT IS PRESENTABLE."

Yes Mal big difference between BET and GIFT.....Ive broken the rule a couple of times (North @ $2.90 v South, a Centrals bet and an AFL Futures bet which is still pending but should get over the line - now $1.08)

The beauty of this system is if you win and icrease your bankroll so does your unit size and vice versa.....e.g. Bankroll is $5000- so max bet is $150-....you have a nice run and get balance to $7000- your max bet is now $210-....can be a great system if you find that winning formula (read - LATE MAL, money tigers dog tips, Dutchy's footy, Baymans GIFT's etc etc)

My main logic is the ability to identify and take advantage of VALUE
THIS HAPPENS
Its amazing how people want to bet on the TAB at 115 % and not
want to toss me heads or tails at the 100%

VALUE is a concept I always try and use
VALUE = % probability

MALMAXIM
THE GREATER THE PERCENTAGE THE LESS VALUE
THE LESS PERCENTAGE IS BETTER VALUE
WHEN THE PERCENTAGE IS DEFINED OR FACTUAL AND BELOW 100% PROBABILITY = VALUE

this is just like a maths lesson in bloody high school 10 yrs ago

GIFTS = 5% OR GREATER and chhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhharge

I notice you bet higher as your bank increases
Thats sound manangement
It sustains a winning run at the maximum bet
It declines as you are on the losing streak

By the way for all you out there there is 5 people in this syndicate betting $100 per week

JJ has been put to the sword by CENTREMAN in another post about winning on Jackpots.

Personally I dont do anything differently when taking my dogs/trots jackpot quaddies
I have not researched the topic as much
Question is
Can you win more on Jackpot quaddies compared to norMAL quaddies ?

As for taking on the jackpots exactly the same way usually means you are just building the pools with more MUG money without much hope of a decent collect.

Its only natural to put more time, effort and cash into Jackpot pools because their might be $i50,000 free cash to start with which you may have not even contributed to. So that free cash added to the mug money makes it all the more enticing.

Gentlemen
If I take my dog quads and say work out this combination
123/12/1578/12458 = $120 for a $1 unit
What should I do in the event of a JACKPOT ?
Do I go wider with more runners ?
Do I take less and invest less ?

If I take that $120 combo[as I would every week irrespective of jackpot or not] would it pay
a greater dividend if everybody is going wider ?

Im still not up to date with the logic
Can someone educate me please
