US Golf PGA

A huge tournament here, with the punting stifled by Tiger Woods as $3.00 favorite. This opens up some value for other players, although at some stage of the tournament, $3.00 may look value for Tiger.

Have taken Hunter Mahan at $67 to win: has been in very good form the last two months, and has been shooting 3 low scores, with one high one in the last few tournaments. If he can hold it together, he could be a real chance at the business end. Also took Kenny Perry at $81; another who has been in rare form lately and lurking around the top 5 of some pretty handy tournaments.

Took Nick Dougherty, who usually starts well, to shoot the lowest score in Round 1, at $81.

Let's see how it all goes!

alright, golf has been good to me this year, with a profit in every major, this is probably where i bomb!

No disrespect PP but if you take Tiger at those odds you are dead set crazy....I cant believe he is that short, this is a guy that hasnt won a major for over 12 months, has just had his life turned upside down with the birth of his daughter and has played less tourneys they normal this year. Im laying baby!!!!

Tiger Lays -
To miss cut Risking $12- to win $300-
To miss Top 5 Risking $150- to win $200-

my stable
Justin Rose $34-
Retief Goosen $60-
Luke Donald $55-
Angel Cabrera $120-
Mike Weir $150-
Davis Love III $240-
Chad Campbell $500-
Thomas Bjorn $430-
Justin Leonard $170-

good luck all

G - how have I lost the plot??

I said "although at some stage of the tournament, $3.00 may look value for Tiger.".

Did I say anything about backing him at those odds myself? No - as it happens, I haven't taken him at all - just said at some point, he may look value. Actually said that short odds like that open it right up for value on other players - as round 1 proved.

Think that Perry and Mahan still look pretty reasonable at this point also.

Plunge, my comments had nothing to do with your views re- TIGER but more in regards to the 3 hacks that you believe are a chance. :butthead: :butthead:

Have you ever heard the saying "you cant eat value" well that sums up those bums you've backed.

Guess it's easier to sit there and hand out little but criticism, rather than putting something on the line, isn't it G? So these three "bums" (and yes, Doughety had a shocking first round) have started ordinarily - its not as though you were prepared to put your thoughts out there is it?

Oh... :D

good call PP, very easy to sit back and bash....unless they have some constructive criticism best to ignore...

as for the PGA I reckon I might be about to do my asre!!!, you were right abotu Tiger $3-00 looking OK right now, still think he is pretty short at $1.40 with still 36 holes to play, eckon Ill lay him again to win to try and get a result for the PGA

might give back some of my golf profits here but going to lay Tiger again to try and get out of this -

Lay Tiger to win
Risk $97- to win $250-
