Should I get a return?

I had $100 on Brisbane at $2.05 on Saturday. Should I get $102.50 back? or nothing?
I backed them head to head, as it was a dead heat shouldnt I get half the win dividend?
The draw was down in the points betting section and wasnt with the head to head bet.

If they dont pay a half divie on a draw surely it should say,
Brisbane $2.05
Swans $1.80
Draw $51

I am not a regular punter and am confused, If the draw was part of this bet surely it should have been stated there. As it wasnt stated am I entitled to a half divie (like a dead heat in racing) Am I wrong or just dumb?

If I get nothing, do sporsbet get to keep all the money on the head to head bet? surely not? they would have cleaned up?

Depends on the Bookie - ifs its TAB Sportsbet then it depends when you put it on, if you put it on when the Draw bet was an option (which it sounds like it was) then you lose, if you put it on early in the week before the draw option is available you get a dead heat result. You said it was a head to head bet so therefore you WILL get 1/2 the face value of the ticket which in your case is $102.50.
On head to head the draw doesnt come into play but in the case of say a cricket test, the three results are say - Aust, England and Draw and the market is framed for 3 results whereas head to head footy is framed for 2 results.

Interesting I would of thought otherwise, I backed Sydney and got half the return, but it was on Betfair where there was no margin betting....I know Sportsbet and Centrebet wont pay out on a draw if they have a Draw market up usually up on Wednesdays

Let us know the result

Usually they would pay half a dividend if you couldn't back a draw, but I'm waiting for the day they don't pay out on draws and dead heats. It would be very simple to argue that the bet was made on Brisbane to win, and since they didn't they lost. I would be very surprised if this was the case yet though.

Nice well done, different bookies have different rules on this one so you can never be too sure

Dutchy I disagree. I have accounts with 7 sports betting firms and ALL pay out on the draw for head to head bets.
eg. Sydney $1.80
Bris $2.05
No mention of a price for the draw so dead heat rules apply. Always has, always will.

http://www.sportsbet.com.au dont, I had a multi with North winning earlier in the year when they drew with South and I didnt get paid out as I put it on after they had a draw market up, however I also had a win bet I put on early in the week on North and that got paid out cause they didnt have a draw market at the time

You outlaid $100 for a return of $102.50.
Well done, as there is only 1 punter on earth who regularly tips winners in this vicinity, & that is the legendary MAL.
Beware- you will never be as good as MAL, as you will never tip a $1 winner like he did!  8)

http://www.sportsbet.com.au rules -

56. Dead Heat Rule
56.1. In the event of a tie/draw/dead heat where that betting option was NOT offered by Sportsbet on such outcome, wagers will be paid at face value of the ticket (total payout figure including the initial stake) divided by the number of competitors drawing for that placing.
56.2. In the event for which Each Way betting is available, place ties will be paid such that the Place portion of the face value of the ticket is multiplied by the remaining number of places available and divided by the number of competitors tying for those available number of placings.
56.3. In the event of a tie/dead heat where the odds were offered by Sportsbet on such outcome, then all Win and/or Place wagers are unsuccessful and the Draw option is the successful wager.
