GIRADI
--------

Are the Giradi clan any relation to the Giradi that played footy for Woodville ?
It think it was John Giradi and he captained the side about 30 years ago.

MONDAY $500
-------------

That fantastic promotion is still on Mondays
One entry form per person and you have to try and pick the first 5 winners
The prize $500 smackers [if more than one winner it is shared]

RYAN HRYHOREC
----------------

I rated Hollywood Harding the best driver about 6 months ago
Now Im not sure as I consider Ryan to be nearly or as good as Hollywood
Mark WebSTAR is now in third place
Ryan is adding another dimension to his may talents.
He is forging a name as a trainer
Ryan has a great guide in that underated trainer a little while ago John Hryhorec
Ryan aquired the unruly THANDECON recently from the Goble yard
Goble a very astute trainer of trotters didnt get THANDECON to race at its potential
Enter Ryan who got the former pacer THANDECON to win a race.
Apparently there was no stable $$$ on the horse ?
Just after it won, a few yards over the line THANDECON went wayward [phewwwwww]

As for the best, Ryan maybe on horses that come from behind is now the best ?

PULLICINO
---------

Yes has returned back to Victoria

BREEDERS PLATE
----------------

The 2 year old Breeders plate was to be run Saturday night
BUT
Its been scrapped through a lack of nominations
According to the media guru THE LAWMAN there was only about 5 nominations
Considering the $5 or $6 k prizemoney that is disconcerting and disappointing

FRIDAY MEETING
----------------

A few of my favourites going around and will be very hard to beat
R2-2 JOHNNY DOIKA
R3-2 SAFE RIDGE
R5-9 NOVEMBER ROMEO
R6-7 TAKE THE PLEDGE

All of them are most likely to be in the finish

Maybe a distance relative Mal.

I believe the current Giradi's clans talents lie with harness racing and gardening only.

What a joke race 1 was at GDP tonight. After an early burn to lead Arbison lass was left alone and let to run a first half in 68 (they go faster at the trials) With a run like that the rest of the field had no chance, but what was worse was no other driver made any runs during the race and there was no pressure. Good luck to owners, Tidswell would of been fined $50 for going slow. I hope I have a horse one day in that position, I'll pay the fine myself with a smile

SCD's HARNESS HARP

Postby SCD » Sat Aug 25, 2007 12:01 am

Just to have a little whinge at Harness Racing in SA..

Most of you know my horse is a mare that needs everything to go her way to be able to win races.. she is a R3 / C2 mare.... No races with Pref barrier draws to mares.... no mares races (except $1000 races) and her last 15 starts she has drawn
10, 9, 9, 9, 9, 7, 9, 7, 3, 4, 5, 7, 4, 8, 10 (including the 10 tomorrow)... (7 of her last 15 have been barrier 9 or 10!!)

Now for an average little mare.. what hope do you have?? And you wonder why we are trying to sell her.. 39 starts for us and she has had barrier 1 or 7 on not many occasions.. I think it is about 6 or 7.. then you get a horse like Last Left that has drawn barrier 1 or 7 in something like 4 of his last 8..

ALL I can really say is they say most races are done on a "Random barrier draw" - done by a computer.. one that has to be programed.. so it can't be Random at all!!

No minimal sections so no fine for tidswell.

Thanks for that i thought there was minimal sectional times. Maybe bring them in so we dont have such boring races

if the clowns back in the field wont put the horses into a race when the speed is slow, it is not the fault of the leader, what it does do is make it easier to have a 'oars out race'

Its unfortunate and frustating for you SCD about your mare not getting a half decent draw but it also works both ways. When you have a C1 only race and C2 mare gets a start coz she's a mare and she draws 1 or 2 with gate speed how do you think the C1 owners feel

Completely agree with you warrior... I don't think Mares should necessarily get a concession back, they don't need to if they run some more mares races...

We put her in a C1 / C2 when she was a C1 and drew barrier 9 - 3 times in a row.... she happened to win the 3rd one (at Port Pirie when the heavens opened up at the 400m)..

Where are the fillies and mares races though.. they are non-exsistant.. except for the Heroine where Perfect Lignum (a C300 M2 can race against a little C1 mare.. ) I remember 5 - 6 years ago a couple of horses could only be competitive in mares races (i.e. Trifolia Made... or Marie Therese or even Seven O'clock news to name a couple of mares that struggled out or Mares grade).. but they don't seem to run them anymore....
