Easiest Racing/Punting Systems

I've had a couple of very simple systems over the years that have proven surprisingly successful, and wondered if other people have used these. They may sound a little left field..

RACING: I'm going to track the success of this one for the next few months, as it now comes into play more than ever.
Back horses that have had one start only, on heavy or slow ground, and have failed, but have started $8 or less in the betting. As Spring comes in, this will become more prevalent. I've lost count of the number of times I've had very good long priced winners, at both the provinicals and city, with this one.
The best yet was at Rockhampton late last year - backed a General Nediym colt that had finished 14 lengths last on debut in the heavy, and started $5 second favorite. When having its next run on a fast track, it jumped at $102 - and bolted in by 3 lengths.
The reasoning behind the system is they are showing SOMETHING to justify starting short on debut - but plenty are not mudlarks, yet are friendless in the betting next start.

HARNESS: Back a horse whose last three runs in the formguide show "074". Again, it has been a surprisingly successful one - started for me with a runner at Albion Park in the 90's that had just that form and saluted at $98. My reasoning for this one, is they are gradually improving each run, and if not winning, will often run the placings. This system takes just a glance at a formguide to assess.

Has anyone else tried these ones and if so, with much success?

Righto - will bring this one out for the first time of the Carnival today, and will keep track of it. While I will also be using this at the provincials, and will keep a log of its success separately, will start with a Carnival perspective here:

M'Ville - Race 8, no.6: Joyful Glow - one start in August, at Strath, when opened 5/1 on a slow track, and beaten 8.75 lengths. Hayes horse, will be ridden by S.Price today, who also rode it on debut. Drawn well today, looks an improver.

Only qualifying runner of the day in metro company, so let's see how it goes.

Does this work at other venues or is the sound theory its based on only relevant at albion park.

Robber - funny you should say that. I find it very effective at Albion Park interestingly. Have had a number of winners at this track with it, possibly more than most venues, although Gold Coast a close second. Not sure if there is a trend there!

Joyful Glow ran 5th, so no luck with the first bet there for the Carnival. There are no qualifying runners under usual conditions in metro races tomorrow, but will have a big watch on MR 1, No. 14 - Pillar of Hercules. 2 starts, opened 8/10 on debut on heavy ground, ran 2nd; next start, was 20/1 at Caulf and ran 7th, but featured heavily in the stewards report as copping significant interference throughout. Beaten less than 5 lengths - will take this tomorrow as a "follow up" punt.

Pillar of Hercules wins at $6.50 and $2.10 the place. With 2 qualifying bets for the Carnival, if taken at $5.00 each way for both, progressive total as follows:

STAKES: $20

WIN: $43

UP(DOWN): $23.

Will endeavour to find qualifying bets each Carnival week, and will look through provinicials also for separate tally.

Have had a look at Cranbourne tomorrow, and found two strong qualifiers in Race 1: 5 Eco Friendly and 13: Cosmic Express.

The former opened $2.80 favorite in the heavy on debut when unplaced at same track: the latter $4.50 Moe on a dead track when heavily backed late. Will look at working a couple of multiples around this, but Eco Friendly appeals as a best bet under the system.

Eco Friendly runs second at $2.60 the place.

On level stakes of $5 each way, the system is now +$26 so far from three bets.

I backed both e/w, & made a loss.
I got a phone call from the Federal Police.
They wanted to know if I wanted to press charges, as Sportsbet said someone must've hacked into my account.
I replied "no, I actually made those losing bets".
The people from Sportsbet are still recovering from shock, & may not be ready to return to work for another week.

Plunge I dont bet for fun, I bet to sustain a living. Hence I dont have any lucky numbers or sequences which I follow because Im not just wasting $5 a bet on things like yourself.
I stick to proven methods like watching tapes, doing my form and keeping an ear out for info from mates involved in the Trots.
I also woudnt back dogs if you paid me and my main interest in the Gallops is laying nags in mid-week maidens etc.
I hope that helps your curiousity and I keep things like your lucky nos. for X-LOTTO.

G is a logical gambler who raises good points
However G perhaps you should not condone other peoples systems
and also pre judge all systems as losing until there is statistical evidence of it failing

PP has worked out a very simple betting system, and has fun following it
PP does not spend hours labouriously studying as we do with tapes, form , mates tips etc
at the trots
I make good $$$ at the trots and live of my winnings, but its no different to having a job

MAL you may have noticed it was the Penguin that had a sly dig at me [not the other way around].
The reason I may be quiet is I dont grandstand or showboat about my feats as I presume no-one really gives a stuff.
As for being constructive, I find the more time I put into replays and form etc. the luckier I seem to get.

We both treat Gambling seriously
But others who dont have the time or desire to work hard at punting
devise systems and follow it on a recreational basis[or seriously if it suceeds]
Some people actually work 40 hours a week to derive income and can
then afford to play thier devised systems in thier leisure time
PP has headed his system EASIEST RACING/PUNTING SYSTEMS

I have seen some pretty good results from the various systems posted in this room
