This lot should be the last from me

Don Robins Sturt should be Donn (short for Donnell)
Aldo Rosetto West should be Rossetto
Bob Schmidt South never played for Sturt
Rhyse Schultz Sturt should be Schulz (no 't')
Kevin Schulz Sturt needs Rhyse's 't' to become Schultz
Gordon Schwartz Norwood Torrens also needing 't'
Jack and John Shortridge is the same person and played for Torrens and Glenelg. I think he was more commonly called Jack.
Kieran Sporn West 'a' not 'e'
Francis Teiserrie South should be Teisseire
William Thomas Glenelg and William L. Thomas South is the same person and he played for both clubs
Jim Tilbrook Sturt should be John. He was sometimes referred to as "Diamond Jim", but was not addressed by that and never referred to as 'Jim'
Edward Tilley Sturt tricky one this - a lot of people called him Eddie, but Sturt always referred to him as George
Ernest Venus Sturt was known by his third name of Johnny
Robert Voight Sturt should be Voigt; no 'h'
Murray Weidemann West should be Weideman; just the one 'n' like son Mark
Sid White Norwood 'i' not 'y'
Cecil Wickens Sturt should be Claude
Garry Williams Woodville and Glenelg is the same person and played for both clubs
Austin Wonaeamirri Norwood just one letter short

A couple of other points - I notice you have appropriately included nicknames where players came to be known by that name, like Diddy Munro, Fred Phillis, Bo Morton etc. Did you consider doing the same for Kevin (Sam) Gallagher Norwood, John (Gus) Hunter Sturt, and John (Horrie) Nelson Norwood, as they were probably only known to their mothers by their first names?

Secondly, it's your list, but I can't see the point of having John, Donald and Alan in front of the names of Fred Bills, Neil Kerley and Bob McLean. There are plenty of other players in the list known by their second names.

Great job anyway and keep up the good work.

Douglas Warhurst North
Douglas Warhurst West

Dudley Arthur Warhurst played for North in the 1930s. Douglas Warhurst played for West in the 1950s. There has never been a Douglas Warhurst play for North.

Arthur Bottroff North Glenelg

Is this supposed to be Amos Bottroff who played for North in Ken Farmer's time or are we looking at two different players?

I can't answer that one, because that would have been supplied by the long time disappeared LEGS11. Thank you and baggy8 for more corrections, however. :)

North's records only have Amos Bottroff and his son Peter (19th an in the 1960 premiership) as players with that surname. Therefore I assue that Arthur for Glenelg is a different player.

Have you heard or looked into it?
And if yes, is it reliable?

This is incorrect...

Trevor Deverson West

BARRY would be upset to know this ( I am pretty sure the 'Westonians 100 yrs book' is also incorrect).

Trevor played Reserves for West, but it was Barry played 2 League Games for West Adelaide in the '60s.
Barry died 2006, Trevor 1994.

Both played many games for Henley - Barry is on the Honor Board.
I believe Barry played CHB in a State 2nd XVIII game during his time @ Westies.
Trevor became an umpire after finishing playing - 1 League Grand Final, a number of State Games & an International Rules Game in 1986.

Just thought you'd want to modify the records.
Cheers.

Trevor was working on the radio at the time of his tragic death. His main occuation was that of a window cleaner and he unfortunately was killed in a fall whilst working.

I note that Shayne Mitchell GFC is listed as a league player on page 1 of this subject forum - I can't find his name in any Glenelg Annual Report as playing league. Can the person who suggested this confirm his actual debut otherwise it needs to be deleted. Its possible GFC missed his name on the annual report

Not that it's much help to you Mark but the tone of conversation I've had with him in the past was that he did NOT actually play a league game for Glenelg and had left well before he turned 20 but he must have learn't something from Cornesy - fairly certain his time there was before the Crows - because he is a teetotaler ;)

Thanks ORDoubleBlues - I think you confirm what I thought - We need to delete his name from league debutantes then which matches my records
