On this Facebook page, there's a photo of a "Greg Hodson" playing a game of footy in 2007.

http://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?fb ... =1&theater

Assuming its the former Torrens player, he must have been in his mid/late 40's when that photo was taken 6 years ago.

It certainly is Greg "Hotdog" Hodson. The last I knew he was based around Geraldton in WA. He was a talented footballer I think that it has been mentioned before that he captained the 1980 Teal Cup side which featured such future champs as Kernahan, Bradley, McDermott and maybe Motley. I remember he had one outstanding league game for Torrens, but it is also fair to say that he didn't fulfill his ability. I think that he later played for East Fremantle. I think that he turns 50 this year.

Went to an podiatrist a few weeks back. Guy by the name of Richard Crosby, who apparently played a handful of games for the Bays about a decade ago as a ruckman/forward. Seemed like a great bloke.

Former Port star Randall Gerlach was on Today Today this evening.

Forced into premature retirement at 24 after the '77 premiership.

Played two years with advanced kidney disease.

Story was about kidney transplants.

He's had three!

Does anyone know what Mark Viska is up to these days?

Seemed like he really knuckled down when Blight came on board - not that he didn't before - and was in Crows side for the initial rounds of 1997 but obviously wasn't able to hold his spot and didn't hear much of him after that.
Admired the way he played the game.

This is one of those "don't quote me on this" moments but i'm pretty certain that my dad either dated or was in a relationship with Marks mother back in the late 60s, early 70s...

..and Victor Harbor prior to that....I think he may have coached another GSFL club in recent years, perhaps Goolwa or Port Elliott, or possibly the merged version of the clubs.

Article in today's paper reports that former West Torrens player Troy Clarke, has died at age 44.

He played at The Brisbane Bears after his years at Torrens in the late 80's.

Very sad.

RIP
