That 1977 side was a fair side.
I was a toddler then so don’t remember it but I certainly remember a lot of those names.

Booney do you know if the Enright in the 77 side was any relation to Corey Enright that played at Geelong and was an ex Maggie junior?

Great pix. Some cracking and very 1977-era haircuts in that second image.

Didn't know Paul Marrett was an inspiration for Mr Stokes in 'Extras', though...

I don't think so mate. Bob only played a dozen or so games for Port before going to West Torrens and I think a Jack Enright at Torrens was his son.

I just googled it.
Looks like Robert was Corey’s Dad.
He played in the late 70’s for the Maggie’s before going to West Torrens.

Anyone else know that can confirm?

Edit*
AFL website says Gary is Corey’s dad so not sure now?

Enright cried when his parents drove him to Whyalla to fly to Melbourne after being drafted by the Cats in late 1999 as he didn’t want to leave his family, his first girlfriend or his first car (a Torana). But his parents, Garry and Maxine, told him to stick it out, and he is now entrenched living in Torquay, with his wife, Renee, and he is a devoted dad to Boh, who is two-and-a-half.

Edit: Shit, Booney beat me to it. ;)

Bob and Corey's old man are cousins. Bob is also a Kimba boy. He was married to my auntie years ago when he was playing at Torrens. Went on to have a good career at Torrens in the Back Pocket. Jack is his son. He's at Henley now I reckon.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

See Dave Granger most days and he doesn't look a lot different to that pic in 77.

Double denim, sneans and West End Export that’s a snapshot of Alberton in the 80’s.

Haha I was there that night (and the next 2 years), good night out, didn't even need the riot police to shut it down (unlike 2 years later)
