Well before my time as a footy fan, but Tony Casserly was a name I came to recognise as one of the greats players and clubmen in Central's early years. RIP.

PS How old was he when he passed?

I saw him at the club sometime last year and he looked like he was struggling.
It was a reminder to me about my own mortality as he'd always looked like such a strong and powerful man when I was a kid and I saw him around Elizabeth.

A fantastic contributor to our club, as have been his sons, Nathan and Justin.

RIP, TC - a giant of our club.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

Great football family and did so much for the CDFC and northern community.

Son Justin played a bit of League footy with the Dogs, before switching to North and is now a Fire Fighter.

Another son Nathan was a long-serving fitness coach for the Dogs throughout their successful 2000's era and is now a major player in Adelaide Real Estate. Also married to Glen Copper's daughter.

I never saw Tony play live but have seen footage and heard stories from my old man, who he Tony as his childhood hero and later did some contract work for Tony and Roy Laird.

Was a great club servant and hopefully the Dogs will do something appropriate to honour his service.
