Great footage of one of torrens' best players of his era. A big unit who would be well suited to playing the current game as a 'big bodied midfielder'. RIP Freddie, you will be sorely missed.

One of my favourite Torrens players. Could always be relied upon to give 100%, often under duress with injury. Immensely popular with supporters, he epitomised the loyal, dogged and hard working spirit of a player that carried a club on his broad shoulders. R I P Freddy.

A mate of mine (and Freds) was looking for the guernsey numbers he wore at Torrens, anyone know by any chance?

Sincerest sympathy to his family. I saw him play as a kid and was fortunate enough to have a beer or two with him at Woodville. He was a fantastic person and I wish he could have enjoyed more success at West Torrens because a more loyal person you couldn't wish to meet.

Decent turnout to say Goodbye to Fred, and of course there were plenty of great recollections and stories told of such a loveable larrikan.
