43 years ago today (ish) Norwood became Champions of Australia. Were you there?

In a pulsating game in front of more than 12,000 fans, has been crowned champions of Australia tonight for the first time in 70 years, coming from a four-point deficit at the final change to defeat East Perth by 8 points at the Parade.

Yes I attended that game- stood by the players race Parade end
Wuz working in town , pub for a meal , and then off to Norwood Oval
Watched the link 'discovered' by MAgeLlan ,

I spotted on the link the following players
Terry the von Vonbertouch
Graham mocca Dunstan
Neil the bear Button
Johnny elbows two eight Wynne
Glen black duck Rosser
James big jim Michalanney
Phillip gags Gallagher
Michael kingo Taylor
Ian stazza Stasinowski
Dr Michael the galloping hatrack Gregg

Others I noticed were
Paul Adler
Chris Fienemann
Neil Craig
Roger Woodcock[ who kicked a trade mark left foot accurate goal]
Stephen Kerley
Trevor Sapwell
Mike Olsen

There were another few I didnt spot

The coach was Bob the boss Hammond
Peter jumbo prince Darley was one of the callers
Peter Mead the field umpire

For East Perth I noticed 2 players
Ross Glendenning
Number 22 Dave Armour who was playing up forward for some of the game at least
A smart club, Norwood , recruited Dave for the following season , Dave ended up in defence in Norwoods 1978 Grand Final win

It should not have been called the Ardath Cup
Viscount cigarettes were the cheapest to buy in 1970s

The Ross Dillon free 25m out straight in front prior to that, which he kicked a goal from was just as criminal.

Freddie Phillis kicking 0.6 wasn't anything to do with Glenelg losing?
