T'was provided with footage of this match by someone for the purposes of collecting comparative team data which I thought some here might find interesting reading. Here's a trip down memory lane on one of the most entertaining and high-scoring SANFL matches in recent years.

North Adelaide 6.5 14.9 16.13 21.20 (146)
Glenelg 6.3 12.6 19.6 22.10 (142)

North Adelaide scorers: Perrie 6.2, Hargraves, Alleway 5.1, Howard 2.2, Younie 1.2, M.Campbell, Ladhams 1.1, Krieg 0.3, Bamford 0.2, Ryswyk, Wintle 0.1, Rushed 0.3.
Glenelg scorers: Duldig 7.2, Backwell 3.1, Gibbs 2.1, Ruwoldt, McConnell, Kirkby 1.1, Kirk, Moore, Graham, Mitchell, Smith, Rogers, Yeomans 1.0, Mules, Allen 0.1, Rushed 0.1.

And to refresh the records from this match courtesy of spelly:

22.10 (142) is the 2nd highest ever losing score at Glenelg - 21.17 (143) by Glenelg in Round 6 1974 against Norwood is the highest.
That score is the 3rd highest losing score by Glenelg.
It is the highest ever losing score against North by any team - previous was 21.11 (137) by Torrens in Round 4 1976 at Prospect.
It is the 20th occasion a losing score has been over 140 points (equal 16th overall)
It is the highest losing score since Round 10 1987 when West lost to Woodville 22.14 (146) to 23.11 (149) at Woodville.

And onto more fun stuff, but I'm flirting with danger by posting Glenelg stats I've collated with Ecky roaming the board.

Lot of play on from marks, and that North inside 50 count (76) is amazing.

Despite the result, it was the best game I saw all year. Truly a perfect example of how good the SANFL is.

agreed, it was a great advettisement for the sanfl, we thought we had it won then we had lost it and then mulesy had a chance to nail it for us but missed on the run 40 mtrs out right in front with 10 seconds left thus ultimately costing us a finals spot :( i think matt duldig is still dirty as he was on hs own 20 mtrs out and i could hear him down the other end!

Glenelg had six effective backwards kicks to two in that match (not including McConnell's one that was ineffective and ultimately cost them the match).

A flashback thread! Great move. Reminds me a little of the old Footy Budget's flashback section, where you'd see the results from "on this day in 1967" and there would be a little bit of a write up about that game, and sometimes even include a premiership table from that round.
Could we do a similar thing here? So in theory this would mean somebody (or 4 or 5 people)doing a write up on a round played 15 or 20 years ago.
Just a thought, and maybe a chance to relive some of the glory days of the SANFL.

That flashback section is still going strong trb! I've been following West Torrens progress from 1977 and have hardly seen a win. Although, last weekend (30 years before) we did beat Sturt by 1 point at Unley Oval! Always brings up discussion with my old man who would have been about my age going to the footy in that era.

Cheers Aerie. I used to enjoy reading the flashback section during Sturt's rotten years. The worst days were the ones where we lost in the budget flashback and on the actual day, otherwise it was always good to know that we were a lot better off about twenty years earlier!
