PDCA
Best: Rose & Crown before xmas when there is still good grass coverage - good sized ground, decent value, good run ups.
Worst: Wasleys - a dustbowl as hard as concrete and more locusts on the ground than grass!! I was finding locusts in my car and cricket bag for weeks after!!
C&CCA
Best: Terama Reserve - good size, always lush, good run ups.
Worst: Kilburn P.S - cow paddock!
SCA
Best: Always loved O'Sullivan Beach's ground (dunno if they still play games there?)
Worst: Morphetvale F.C - was a rubbish cow paddock

either goes dead when mowed and is lumpy, and rubbish to field on or is left for the grass to get long and it becomes really slow.

Best Cricket Ground in Adelaide

Postby Lethal Dose » Fri Aug 19, 2011 2:08 pm

For a hard wicket ground on a fantastic summers day id say Smithfield in Para Districts comp
For Turf, I like the look of sandy Creeks ground in Barossa Light and Gawler league

Best are the Adelaide uni ovals, outfields like carpet. Worsts: Any major football venue first round, they always have it tough.

Port Oval in Port Pirie goes pretty good. Batsman's paradise, quick outfield and not especially big.

Agreed AD, Port Oval in Port Pirie is sensational.
Well prepared pitches, nice outfield and reasonably priced pots at the front bar
