Should be a fun HCA GF this week, both sides have beaten each other this year and have played close games past 3 years. Two different styles with Stirling being very aggressive with the bat whereas SCIBs more grind you down. Stirling have 3 absolute weapons in Read, Mcfayden and Webb, Webb being a real big game player. We got the best of them once with the ball but the other time they smacked us around. Fielding will be huge for us as need to take chances. Aaron the key wicket for us as he's been in unbelievable form the past 6 weeks. Hopefully we get another close GF.

Would McFadyen be playing or be out due to SANFL Round 1?

Believe so. He's back round 2 for sturt due to a minor injury.

All set for the GFs- Two cracking games in store

Hahndorf v Lobethal: Think Lobey get this done, they know how to win finals and Weeks is a big game player and will have the troops primed to take another flag. Hahndorf have got them a couple of times this year though, can they do it again?

Stirling v SCIB: SCIB with all the momentum into finals and are my tip. Their top order are in form and Stirling will have their work cut with the ball. Read will have to get them off to a flyer with the bat and their experienced middle order will have to make a good total for Stirling to be a chance.

Congratulations to Stirling on Saturday. 3 in 4 years is a hell of an effort. Way to good on the day, bowled and fielded a treat. McCullum with the gloves is spectacular.

Dark day for us in our worst performance for a few years but super proud to be back there again.

Congratulations to Lobethal on 4 in a row to, that is a super effort.

Agree with those sentiments Batman. I was checking scores (Hills, A&EH & the Shield final) throughout Saturday arvo, while at the Box Hill Hawks game...... McCullum is a good keeper. He caught my eye last season, with his up to the stumps work. His stumping of J. Healy in the Semi, was superb work.

Loby just bat, bowl & field too deep.

Good to hear Wistow are back in the A's. Although from a selfish point of view I'll miss playing on your oval.

Wasn't a surprise to see that announcement after chatting to a few of your players late last season. Seems a smart move with a young and keen group who have recently tasted lower grade success.

You'd imagine Maccy will drop back to A2's to even out the numbers unless they have recruited a few. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

How have the Burgess boys developed? They were juniors at Angaston about 8 years ago and looked like they would turn into good young cricketers, was very disappointed to lose them

Bakeroo would be in a better position to comment, but from playing against them the past two years I'd say they're developing very well and are the sort of cricketers you can build around. Connor has a very sound technique and has made buckets of runs at A2 level, so should be well equipped to face the A grade openers. Harry more consistent with the ball, but Connor maybe does a bit more with it. Seem to have good heads on their shoulders.

Both will be very good A Grade players.
It was really Wistow had to go to A Grade or the lads needed to move to a Club with an A Grade team as they're far too good to be playing A2s and restricting their further development.

Heard Mt Barker were moving back up to A Grade tho that hasn't been confirmed. If that was the case the Association would want Maccy to stay up for an Even no. of teams. Havent heard what their intentions are.

Have heard that Creeks have lost quite a few A Grade players (mainly retirements reportedly :o ) and with little depth of quality in their lower 3 grades they could be battling to maintain their regular Finals spot despite still having quality players in Clements, Kropp and Blackwell.

Without hearing anything else i'm guessing Lobethal will again be very strong and will be hard to stop making it 5 on the trot.

Yeah Burgess boys are very good players and will do well in A Grade. It will be a very young core to the team so I'm sure there will be some tough games throughout the season but it will be great for their development as players.

Heard Maccy are quite keen to stay in A Grade as well so if Mt Barker come up then its a 10 team comp.
