Serious business down in LO6 haha! Can't believe a club / team would be so dumb.

Feel sorry for Kilburn though, would've been a flat Saturday night.. then winning retrospectively would be a hollow win. Not the same feeling.

I know Fulham CC a little bit, the L06 team is a team listed under Fulham but is really their own club (if that makes sense). They pick their own team and run it themselves, a subcontinent team.

Cricket is a funny game.
You are right that the Kilburn lads missed out on a proper celebration, but that might just be the gods doing their thing.

A little backstory... (assuming my source is correct):

Preseason, Kilburn nominated for LO2 and LO6, then a week out from the season, pulled out of LO2, sliding all those players down to their LO6s.
The association told them they would have to pull the LO6s, not the LO2s, as a bye in LO2 was unacceptable.

Kilburn then said they'd pull both sides, and there would be byes in both comps.

Gepps Cross then helped the association out, put in an LO2 side and in turn, Kilburn were saved and had the one side in LO6, full of guys who should be playing 4 grades higher.

The gepps cross boys had a season to forget, going 0 and 14, only collecting points in the 5 wash outs, while Kilburn inflated their PlayHQ averages smashing sides in LO6 and finishing the year 10&3.

Fulham - idiots, deserve to lose.
Kilburn - whatever, no sympathy for missing out on a proper celebration.

My thoughts go out to the Para Hills boys who got beaten in the semi final by the guy playing under the fake name, and missed the chance to play in the GF.

These 'franchise' sides are really dangerous for clubs. Fulham will now suffer the financial penalties that will come with the suspensions, and the players in question will simply pack up, register new profiles on PlayHQ and start fresh at another club next season.

out of the 11 Kilburn players in the GF , 8 played L05 last year (Kilburn's lowest grade) 2 don't have ATCA history last season & only 1 player played L01...at a different club, so maybe not quite correct.

Not 100% in the loop on the Gepps situation, was under the impression it was a ground sharing arrangement for alternate weeks when the kilburn oval was sitting idle.

From Fulham CC's Facebook page:

Fulham Cricket Club Statement

Last Saturday 28 March, the Fulham Cricket Club (FCC) LO6 team defeated Kilburn Cricket Club in the Grand Final.

The following day, Sunday 29 March, FCC was contacted by the Adelaide Turf Cricket Association (ATCA) to advise that Kilburn Cricket Club had concerns that FCC fielded a player under an assumed name.

FCC immediately commenced an investigation and the club was later advised the LO6 team had fielded a player under an assumed name for both the Grand Final and Semi Final (versus Para Hills Cricket Club). This is deeply concerning, embarrassing and not a reflection of FCC as a whole.

ATCA was immediately advised with FCC providing additional information to the Association over the ensuing days as requested.

The following decision and penalties have been handed down by the ATCA Compliance Committee which have not been contested by the Club: -

FCC LO6 team has been disqualified and the match awarded to the Kilburn Cricket Club;
all players from the LO6 team has received bans of varying lengths; and

FCC and two LO6 team players have been fined - these fines are being paid by the players concerned.

FCC confirms the Club Executive and Members (non-LO6 team) were unaware of the LO6 team player substitution until raised by Kilburn Cricket Club via ATCA on Sunday.

FCC has apologised to ATCA that the integrity of the competition has been impacted and the implications it had on opposition Clubs - FCC will be reaching out to Kilburn and Para Hills over the coming days.

FCC will NOT be fielding any independent teams going forward.
