hope Sibbs goes with the youth and not the older blokes - Q Taylor, M Zamitt & M Harris would be 3 I would look to bring up

ZAmmit is always late cos of work, no tonks either, hargreaves only available second week and b grade down luke drewett cos away. If taylor comes up gives b grade no bowling. In the end are we gonna be out our best and push them. I prob dont think so. Do u therefor not rob the b grade totally of their players so that they are still a chance against smithfield. Decisions that need to be made by tom nt.

I would agree Honda. The A grade will be far from it's best, so there's no point trying to patch it up and try and get a win which in the current situation is highly unlikely. Not to say you play to lose, but play to be competitive but expect a loss. 2 from 2 is a great start, so to be 2 from 3 will be pretty good as well. Regroup against Rose and Crown and hopefully get the choccies that match.

So you will pick blokes that arent up to the standard/over the hill of A Grade so that you protect the B Grade - that will be one of the biggest backward steps the club has ever made - so you condone basically having your B Grade side stronger than your A Grade

fielding a stronger B Grade than A Grade - I can see how that is the best decision  why not just forfeit the A Grade - then you can really stack the B's ](*,)

Have you ever missed out on the finals by less than a point? That hurts, especially when you remember finishing a game earlier so you can relax for the afternoon.

I think you may have mis-understood what I wrote. You will still have the nucleus of a good side: Sibbs, Browny, Both Paterson's, Weaver, Galoboff, etc. Then you can throw some juniors/up and comers and see how they go. I would definitely not call this fielding a weaker side to protect the B grade. It is seeing what some have in terms of a future, how they can handle pressure etc. At no point should a side put all it's eggs in the B grade basket, this would be insane and definitely a step back. But back to my first point, we are 2 from 2 and in a great position after defeating Angle Vale (who will be no easy beats) and beating last years grand finalists. This is a super start. We will never throw matches, but this game this weekend is a chance to throw caution to the wind and see what some players can come up with. If we lose, so be it, we won't be the first or last to lose to Salisbury West. Time to see what some people are made of.

Hope this clears up what I said.

I agree with you Masha - you need to give some blokes a chance at playing A Grade and see how they go - but to not pick a guy who deserves to come up just because it will leave the B Grade short a bowler/bat is crazy

Pick your best side in the A Grade as if they do lose whatever points they get could be important down the stretch plus you get to see how the best of the rest actually go - you need to use it as a positive

I just dont see the point in trying to protect the B Grade as you will still need to bring blokes up from the C's to play anyway

Can I suggest that some parts of this topic may be better discussed tonight at the club rather than in this forum?
