That's interesting LMcQ, coz as far as we know, the universal start time for both matches will be decided at tonight's meeting. Not saying you're wrong mate, just interesting how you get different info from different people.. ;) I won't be grizzling, I need all the beauty sleep I can get. ;)

I can also confirm that training in preparation for the ATCA match on 17/1/10 will be held at the NEK training facility at Greenacres Reserve, Manoora St, Greenacres on Monday 4/1/10 and Monday 11/1/10 from 5pm onwards.

Big thankyou to Peter Atkins and the NEKCC for offering their training facilities for Association training. 8)

The juggernaut continues, we don't know where or when the under 21 game is, imagine our poor team manager calling prospective players.
"Hi mate, are you interested in playing for the under 21 association team this sunday"
"Oh yeah, I have to work sunday evening though, what time and where is it"
"Um, I know we are playing Adelaide Suburban away, not sure where and not too sure of the time yet"

Poor bloke would've felt stupid half the time. I got asked about a couple of players from our club, one of them does charity work early sunday and I was told he needed to be at Dauntsey by 10am at the latest for a 10:30 start. The bloke who rang is pretty reliable and would've gathered all of the information possible to him before making any assumptions.

 i'm sure it didn't hurt! haha, to be honest i don't think i am in the top 11 players in the association, however i've posted some ok numbers the past couple of seasons so i'm looking forward to having a crack and seeing if i can step up at this level. I know one thing, i'm determined as hell when i play cricket, more than most i believe so fingers crossed i can have a good game and be part of a winning side!

I hear ya Lightning. ;) Scheduling matches before the new independant body has even put administration in place is just ridiculous. Makes it bloody difficult to organise a side in one and a half weeks. Luckily we managed to do it within 7 days. 8)

@ Pistol - the footy sides listed just under your avatar pic didn't hurt your chances either.. ;)

relevant rules"

7.1 (b) For all the purposes of these Rules, a match is drawn if it is abandoned or
cancelled for any reason other than the forfeiture of one of the teams.
7.3 (e) Alternative arrangements to avoid a forfeit may be made only by the Executive
Committee. The Executive has the right to reschedule a match to avoid a forfeit.

7.3 (a) A team is entitled to claim a forfeit if:-
(i) it is notified by the other team that the other team will be unable to field a
team at the start of play; or
(ii) the other team fails to present 7 or more players at the ground scheduled for
the match and ready to begin within 30 minutes after the scheduled time for
the start of play; or
(iii) although the other team has more than 7 players present, it nevertheless
delays the start of play for more than 30 minutes and is unable, by way of
protest, to satisfy the Executive Committee that the delay was unavoidable

will need more details from you mate......to understand this

The Asoc rang us told us the other team could not fill a side and that it would be a forfiet. We accepted this. They then send us a letter after the completioin of this match and tell us they decided it would be fair to call it a draw. They held a exec meeting to discuss this i have been told. I am not sure what rules they have used to overturn the forfiet. Maybe it had something to do with a team in that Division winning outright and that we would of recieved 16 points????????

Righteo, we're a day ahead of schedule, but the leadership group has been finalised and those concerned advised, so here it is :

Shaun Holland (Captain) – Paralowie
Peter Atkins (Vice-Captain) – Northeastern Knights
Andrew Balding – Northeastern Knights
Adam Barnes – Paralowie
Marc Cossens – Para Vista
Paul Domanski - Seaton
Aaron Frith – Paralowie
Adam Gully – Enfield
David Placucci – Northeastern Knights
Matthew Stancl – Adelaide Lutheran
Brett Tarca (w/k) – Para Vista
Andrew Tyson – Fitzroy

Start time will be confirmed at the SAMCA meeting tonight, but I anticipate it will be either 9:30am or 10am, with selected players required at ATCO (aka Dauntsey Reserve) an hour before the start time. I'll ring all selected players tomorrow with this info.

Everyone is encouraged to come down and lend their support for the boys on Sunday. ;)

I can also confirm that training in preparation for the ATCA match on 17/1/10 will be held at the NEK training facility at Greenacres Reserve, Manoora St, Greenacres on Monday 4/1/10 and Monday 11/1/10 from 5pm onwards. All players interested in participating in the 2009/10 CUSA Cup are encourage to attend. Big thankyou to Peter Atkins and the NEKCC for offering their training facilities for Association training. 8)
