I see that the association is looking at having a 6 section competition this year. It will mean there will be 5 twelve team sections and section 6 would have 14 teams and play round 3 as two one dayers instead of a 2 dayer. This means that there would be lots of movement between the grades.

I woluld see this as a step in the right direction. I have always thought sections 6 and lower should be one-day comps which would possibly stop the lower grades having so many forfiets

There is also a rule that got through at the AGM that allows sides from section 4 and below to play a 12th and 13th player each game. It will be interesting to see how much this is used by the clubs.

have heard the same rumour about McGregor and they have announced on their website that Jamie Somerfield will be playing with them this year coming from TTG so i guess that one isn't a rumour.

You blokes are on a good thing at the Marion. We stopped off there for a beer a couple of times just to check out the chick behind the bar and her MASSIVE jugs of beer.

Anyone seen a programme yet ?

Would be nice to see one soon, as the comp starts in 5 weeks.

Agreed it would be nice but i haven't seen it as yet. As i stated earlier they have changed it back to 6 sections from 7 and the first game is a one-dayer but that is all i know.

Why is the first game a 1 dayer, most of the time the first game gets washed out. Is it because teams struggle to get players out at the start of the season and a 1dayer is more appealing.

Not sure why but that is what they have decided to do this year i don't think it is a bad thing to get it out the way early. We don't usually bat our overs out in the first games so it may even help us  .

The more innings early in the season the better I say. More opportunity to take wickets when batsmen aren't in form, especially when under pressure to score quickly.
