Surprised Doug got that close, to be honest...
He checked it on his calculator twice.

Before this game he did have an average of 25 in A Grade district cricket.
It was his first A Grade district cricket innings and was unluckily out hit wicket for 25.
His form in other games and representative cricket this year has been very good.
16 year old kid hits 183* in his second A Grade game, he is an absolute jet and a great kid.
I’ll keep my opinion

Did well in the recent Under 19's championships in Tassie.
I work with his mum, they're very level headed, I look forward to his progress over the next few years.

In a good position vs Sturt. Still a bit to do however. Tense first session next week.

LBW last decision too. Pity we can’t see it! What is with Sturt having no Frogbox for last three weeks? Not good enough from supposedly one of the top clubs![]()
Who would have picked Glenelg and Uni to get relegated! Good luck to Southerns and Prospect etc next season!

Apparently Sturt was broken into before Xmas and it was stolen along with zing stumps,TV and a heap of curator equipment. I heard they have been lent another from SACA but it’s faulty.
PS I heard the LBW was missing off and leg stump.

Smart from Adelaide.
Not sure it's great for cricket in SA that Glenelg goes down. A bit like Sturt a couple of years ago. One of the strong producers of good local players. I know Sturt have returned but there seem to be a lot more recruits in their line up now. Same with Kensington, West Torrens, Adelaide, Gullies...? Clubs that were once home grown dominated have been forced to recruit more actively to stay up. That's just my impression. I haven't crunched any numbers to compare or to see if my impression is actually correct

billy wrote:Do not agree, Glenelg going down is rewarding mediocrity in grade cricket. They are clearly one of the strongest clubs, having 2 clubs go down each year will continue to be detrimental. In my view having a points system spread over a couple of seasons, is a much better way to have promotion/relegation. I can live with one club a season, but given the number of grade games which are impacted by State representatives not being available, makes the current process of having 2 teams relegated highly problematic.
So next season having the possibility of having McSweeney, Scott, Doggett playing in Division 2 is beyond farcical. The bottom 2 teams in division 2 are beyond poor. You potentially have third grade players playing in games against people who play for/will play for Australia.
I.E. Rank amateurs v professionals. How is that good for the culture of cricket in this state?
