i think it was C&CCA 8/171? (Loechel 55, Atkins 30 odd, Smith 20 odd) vs Turf 2/172 in about 25 overs.

Was really exceptional display of hitting from turf, i thought C&CCA did quite well actually but Turf were a class above. Im sure the Herder will give a more accurate review though..

i thought our whole batting line up did a good job after we were 1/0 after the first ball as capt. i was very happy with the 171 against that line up and thought after 20overs we shouldve gone on to make 200plus i believe we were 1/93??? but not 100% sure but to turfs credit they bowled really well in the 20 to 40 over period but yes as was just stated loechel, atkins and smith were the stand outs

on the bowling side of it well to be honest we were out classed by morgan he was just in devestating form hitting 90 odd not out and there skipper brooks was no mug either hitting 50 odd i thought after we got hook cheaply you were a real chance to get into there middle order but them 2 just really batted well.

our front liners in doma, baldo, gully and graham all bowled well it wasnt as if they bowled bad just were up against 2 very good batsmen we tryed 7 or 8 bowlers i think but it just wasnt our day.

we also fielded very well from ground and in the air but all in all were just outclassed today but plenty of positives to take in to the adel surb. game aslong as we keep improving you cant ask much more than that.
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........

That's about it in a nutshell Phantom. Loechel 55, Atkins 35, Smith 29. Loechel and Smith shared an 86 run partnership for the 2nd wicket, and we really didn't bowl all that much poo to be honest. Jason Morgan was just in a class unto himself really. His 90no, or however many he made, was controlled bludgeoning with contempt. Just because he could.

Plenty of positives to come out of the match for our lads, but if the ATCA were deadly serious and fielded their very best side including the likes of Brad Young, Mark Harrity, Mick Harden, Dean Waugh & Jarrad Taylor etc along with Morgan, Hook & Ozolins etc, none of the other metro cricket associations could seriously think they would get within cooee of them.

It was a top experience for our lads and well done today Dutchy, led the boys superbly mate. 8)

Bring on Adelaide & Suburban. ;)

No worries mate, you and all the boys can hold ya heads up high. 8) To be praised by the opposition skipper in the way that he did, it confirms what we already know. We're heading in the right direction. ;)

Please forgive me if I sound a little stupid :D but I have another reason for it too... All your good batsmen are playing in Div 3... They're terrorising sides down there at the moment, thinking they're awesome smashing the old blokes in Div 3 around week in, week out, whilst Paralowie's A-Grade side are forced to forfeit matches, rock up short, and languish at the bottom of the ladder. Any of Surridge, Lubcke, Lenehan even Holman (with the bat) and Curtis, May, McGinley and Surridge (with the ball) could, at the very least, be competitive in Div 1.

So, does that mean that there will, in fact, be two Paralowie teams in Division 2 next year? Perhaps we'll have to re-name one of them Elizabeth East ;)

The thing with that mate is they all want to stick together. Because they train and we dont, there isnt a chance for everyone to be introduced to one another so 90% of the b's and c's have hardly met any of us a graders. That makes it hard to try and convince them to come play a grade. I think we'll stick out the year as we are, but hopefully next season we can come to be more of a club in that aspect.

Without a doubt them blokes you named could play a grade.

Well if you guys sneak into 4th spot (still very possible) you will get another crack at them first week of the finals (without Turland playing for them I think), which I don't think they would be looking forward to.

It is a good even competition in D-Grade this year. Any team can beat any other on their day, and all teams are still a chance to make the finals. Should be an interesting last two rounds!

What's the ladder looking like for Div 4 Ecky?

I'd be pretty confident going into the first week of finals against Brooklyn Park. We had them 5/50 the first time we played them and lost by 2 wickets, then on the weekend they were 7/70 chasing only 90 odd. Hardly a convincing display against a team on the brink of making the 4.

Its pretty much a blurr, but all i remember is seeing the ball about a metre infront of me and to the left, and stuck my left hand out and the rest is history. Easily the best catch i've taken.
