Id also be interested in hearing the reasoning of winning the toss and bowling first. Ive always thought batting first in a gf and getting runs on the board is the best tactic like props proved on sunday. Looks like that Karma bus made 1 more stop on it's way out of pirie, beep beep. (sorry, heard that mentioned after the game and had a bit of a laugh)
And whats this about looking at footage of the game. Is there some controversy i havnt heard of?

When some bloke ripped the top order of Warnertown apart it seemed like a smart move by Risdonz.

No that is typical Warnertown...who hate risdonz as they stick up for themselves.

The karma bus may have one more stop for the team dodging up the score books.

No there are some rumours going around town that Warnertown only scored 80odd, a few anonymous phonecalls and such.

Dont think anything can happen now though.

I was lucky enough to see both games and both were rippers and played in good spirit, excpept for the the risdon captain making a tool of himself after having all three of his stumps knocked over for a duck and then wanting to stay out there and argue with the fielding side

There's nothing wrong with a bit of banter Larry.
I think you will find that the players that took things too far, were reported.
Risdonsz captain was not reported. Yes he had a bit to say but shook hands with everyone after the game and congratulated the bats on their win. Inappropriate to single him out just because he plays it hard.

Point taken there PPlions but i wouldnt call that "playing hard", but the pressure of finals can make us do silly things cant it. Was good to see all hands were shaken at the end.
And back to the scorebook issue? It couldnt have been 20 runs out surely???????

Was anything said when Warnertown were 5/20 no? Risdonz could have started sledging them on there way off but no they didn't...what gives Warnertown the right to start yapping?

did Warnertown say anything to anyone that wasn't half their age?

I think the book is reported to be 11 runs out.

having a side 5 for 20 in the 1st innings is great but probably a bit early to slege as it could come back to bite ya, like it would have done to risdon so it was wise of them not to slege. and if the rumours of the book being 11 runs out (which is a fair bit) is true then the captain should be sacked or taught how to add up. this should always be checked before signing.
Its a pitty the A grade game didnt have as much controversy but from what I saw Props had the better all round side and did it easy in the end. I noticed it was the second year in a row the grewer medalist hasnt taken a wicket in the gf.

This is not a mathematical error here larry, the accusation is Warnertown added runs to their book..ie scoring a single as a 2.

The controversy in the Agrade game happened on Saturday as whichgrade eluded too.

ah ok well thats a whole different story then and also a very big accusation to make (sorry i'm not saying u made it). The person would wanna have the facts right. Also i'm a bit lost with your comment on the controversy in the A grade? Was it somthing to do with moving the game to sunday? The game was always going to be played on turf. I noticed the wandies blokes out there all day saturday and i'm sure they wouldve stayed all night if they had to as word on the street is Gillett definatly wasnt going to play if it was on the hard wicket.
I think the right decision was made and the 2 top sides from the last 10 or more years got to go head to head on a well prepared turf wicket. Well done to all involved in making that happen.

I am not making the accusations, I am simply reporting what I have heard from a few different sources some involved in cricket other whom aren't. Hard to prove any accusations so I think that issue should be dropped.

I believe there was some controversy on Saturday....refer to whichgrade' previous post for the story.

I don't know about Gilette not playing on a hardwicket, maybe his knee cant handle the concrete after his accident. I do get the feeling Gilette is not a fan of takka horsnell haha

Totally agree larry, well said, and what a glorious day it was sunday, I wasn't saying there was controversy there was just people who made decisions and then weren't happy when the correct decision was made

Great photo. oval looks in magnificent condition. Are you able to explain the significance of the flags of other countries? I thought they were quite colourful, along with the ones the bats had it helped to brighten up the day.
