Ha ha just recieved a text from an old prop friend informing me that even in the masters Props were too good for the rams, bowling them out for a meesly 33. I replied "c'mon mate its only masters". That dosn't matter he said, we even did it on there home deck on a friday, so the saying is true, "any time! any day! any ground!

But you missed the best bit! Who then went out to open the batting chasing that figure in a friendly masters game. :roll:

And then of course the obvious question came up 'How come we aren't allowed to play here during the year?'

Afraid not. Didn't everyone vote in the arrangement for 2 or even 3 years? I may be wrong but all clubs seemed happy how it was.

Who opened the batting GTG?
I would have loved to have got to the game but, like many others, it was hard to get out there due to work commitments.
Good to see so many players were able to get time off work to play though. Great work by the bosses of Port Pirie and surrounding districts to get behind the masters games. I hope they were rewarded with a post match reasonable priced beer at the Port rooms.

If they fell within the age limit required under masters games rules it is irrelevant who it was that opened. What is your point?

Who raised the "obvious question" and are you able to substantiate the claim you make ? No? Didnt think so.

Ignoring the tongue in cheek comments from Larry, if circumstances are unchanged how could new arrangements be possible. From what i hear all are happy and nothing will change.

Sorry all a bit of reading but,
This has been cut from the Agenda for this Wednesday 23rd May PPRCouncil Meeting put forward to be received from the minutes of the Sport and Recreation Committee meetings held on the 17 April and 15 May 2012.

11. That the Port Pirie Football League be charged $1,000 per day for use of Memorial Oval;
12. That the Solomontown Football Club be charged $2,500 per season for the use of Globe Oval;
13. That the Lions Football Club be charged $2,500 per season for the use of Memorial Oval;
14. That the Port Pirie Cricket Association be charged $100 per game for the use of Memorial Oval and $60 per game at other Council ovals;
15. That the Port Pirie Night Baseball League be charged $100 per night plus lighting charges for the use of Memorial Oval

......................and then a little further on

Consolidation Options
20. That Council make the commitment to consolidate to support sharing of grounds by the different sports;
21. That the various options below be canvassed with the community and the community be invited to comment on each or provide differing options:
(a) Port Oval become headquarters for football and cricket with soccer and softball moving to Memorial/Pirie West (would require school community approval). Senate Road and Leonard Park become surplus;

Surely this can't be right!!

I know, I know, it's not even the half way mark of the footy season yet but surely theres gotta be some cricket rumours getting around already. I hear the gun full forward over at Sollies is quite handy with the bat and can bowl a bit too. My informers tell me Twigggy is on it already and we could see him in the black and gold. Would be good for the comp if Sollys could get in first as that is just what they need to keep the young lads keen. Ive also heard Sollys chairman? Andrew Unger is getting a couple from his old club in Clare??????
Havnt Heard much on Wandies who I cant see changing a great deal (Will Turcie make a comeback)???
Nothing coming from South Port but I have no doubt Benny Brown will have somthing up his sleeve.
And last years premiers Props have apparently signed Port Augusta gun batsman Johnny Mckenna, and the rumour is Nigel Anderson may return for 1 last year of A grade cricket, along with (ex Pirie boy) William Hards who may just play enough to qualify. With only Craig Olly dropping out its hard to see where they will fit them in.
Let the pre season rumours begin..............

Looks like Scott McIntyre is a handy cricketer as his stats from the season just gone suggest:

Word on the street is he is not keen on joining a top club. Hopefully Sollies win the fight for his signature.

Yeah Scott goes ok, just ask him. His outties are handy, if on the slow side. In all seriousness, Scott would be a great signature to get for any side up there. A damaging cricketer who has done it all. A matchwinner with bat and ball.
