Well thanks for that, looking at his record it looks like he can certainly play a bit. If there are any sollies reading this I hope you are on to him. Its good to hear he is keen to help out a struggling club rather than chase glory.
Interested to know who I missed from Props squid??? With 2 or 3 promising juniors coming through I wouldnt have thought theyd be needing to add any more. Please tell.

Word on the street is he is not keen on joining a top club. Hopefully Sollies win the fight for his signature.

Your word is correct not all that keen on joining one of the top clubs had a lot of success back home over the years so more looking to help build one of the lesser clubs. But no haven't really spoken to any club at this stage. Had a good last season stats wise but everyone gets lucky every now n then

Said person hasn't played for a while but from all report bowls handy mediums and can easily put people on Port oval roof with the bat. They have been more involved in the officiating side of things

lets not hold anything back now squids, a name would be nice. And no Dirk it's not Sellen. I believe he took the coachs job at Strykers. Lookng at Sollies side I think there young bowlers are ready to step up and all they lack is a competitive score to deffend. If they can sign this new bloke plus get sedunary to play full time, they would join williams and darian Hayes in a very strong top 4, then all off sudden they look quite competitve.

It was Sellen actually.

I think he can coach in the mornings and dominate in the afternoon.

Still intends to umpire in afternoon.

Little or no comment on the fees/ovals issue. Well done by Greg Congdon on last nights local news although he was talking about football concerns. Are cricket officials doing anything?

Where you been Squids, you must be good for a bit of pre- season of gossip. Player movements? When do they hold the AGM?
What about club AGM's, have they been held yet? Any new officials likely?

Season will kick off on 6/10/12 (6 weeks on Saturday). When are teams kicking off training?

Almost that time of the year when the cricket rumours start to surface. My recent mail tells me a handy right arm opening bowler from props will be wearing the blue and white this year. Not overly quick but very honest and a proven wicket taker (has a hat-trick to his name i believe). If true his experience will really help the young attack over at solomontown and throw in big Scotty Mac to team up with Sedunary and i think they will be quite competitive which will be great for the comp.

Thanks for the info Larry.
Great to see Sollies pick up a few. Certainly will be good for the competition and more numbers helps when there are concerts / music festivals on.
I know Risdons have lost a few, and it now seems confirmed that one stalwart is moving to the "greener""pastures of port oval to play a season with his brother.

Greeting all!

New season just around the corner soon be time to dust off the whites.

Have the pitches that were damaged last season been fixed?
Are sollies putting in a B grade side after struggling for numbers last season?

So it's only a bit over 2 weeks till season 12/13 kicks off and still not much talk on how teams will line up. At this stage it's looking like most sides will be pretty much the same as last year. Below are the only INS and OUTS I've heard so far.......

PROPS. INS John Mckenna (Pt Augusta)
OUTS Craig Oliphant (Retired) will play B grade I believe
Richard Cable (may return after christmas)

Wanderah/South Port. I have nothing from wanderah road

Risdon. INS none that I know of
Outs Jeff Twigden (year off/retired?)

Solly. INS Scott Mcyntire (Adelaide Plains?)
Rowan Neck (Props)
OUTS. none that I know of

Can anyone add any more to this or please correct me if I've got any incorrect.

Will look to do full team run downs next week so any team changes would be great.......

Unbelievable, some clubs want to play at Port oval again.

I thought playing at Port oval crippled them financially.

maybe the secret alliance is over.
