Hopefuly they do, it is not something that should be happening.

Interesting to read this from you. Not a fan of the young lads from your team?

I am hearing it was only one Echunga/Mylor player and maybe 2 Echunga C graders.
I am a little dissapointed as well that one of my team mates may have been deceptive by playing under another name for another team , if the rumours are correct.

hills will be looking to hit a big score on the small paracombe oval.

any update on who made the AEH team? considering they have most of the TVCA winning team from last year it will be interesting to see who they go with. should be early favorites i would think

Interesting to note that Langhorne Creek are sitting 7th on the Premiership table in 'A' grade despite only losing 2 games for the season so far. This has mainly been brought about by the irregular program that sees some sides play the bottom teams only in 1 dayers thus denying outrights. Whats ridiculous is that after this weekend where there are NO matches due to the Meyer sheild, next weekend has a round of meaningless 20/20 matches programmed with the results being of absolutely NO consequence. Why wouldn't they have programmed a 2 day match starting that weekend to make the program a bit fairer to teams pitted against each other in 1 dayers ? Already have heard clubs are arranging NOT to play the 20/20 due to lack of interest and irrelevance of the match.

Even a WORSE bit of programming in the A2 grade with Langhorne Creek playing Milang TWICE in 2 day matches (1 home, 1 away), Strath TWICE in 1 day matches (1 home, 1 away) and Macclesfield TWICE in 1 dayers (BOTH at Macclesfield), Finniss twice in 1 dayers (1 home, 1 away) yet UNBELIEVABLY DONT PLAY LOBETHAL AT ALL  GO figure that one. :?

The program does leave alot to be desired, it really has made it alot harder for some clubs to climb the ladder. I am behind you all the way with the 20/20 situation, the comp hasn't taken off and clearly doesnt have player support, it would be a much better idea to have another 2 dayer. I know it will never happen but Ill say it anyway, I beleive the A grade (A1's) should be all 2 day games, its the premier grade in the league and most players in this grade take their cricket serious enough that they could handle it. this would also eliminate alot of the program issues we have and even out the ladder.

Caught a fair bit of TVCA v Murray Towns today at Birdwood.

Batting first TVCA ended up on 8/162 from memory. T. Rathjen top scoring with 45. MT fielded very well.

The MT openers (Krollig and a Luke..Harrowfield i think?) had little trouble getting to 90 odd before the first wicket fell. The game tightened a little, with MT needing about 40 off the final 8 with 5 wickets in hand. But they got home fairly comfortably in the end, 6 wickets down and a couple of overs left. Didn't help TVCA's chances when their opening bowler limped off after just an over, but MT too good overall.

From what I heard Hills were playing Invitation yesterday in one of the semis. Hills made about 200 batting first. Not sure on result.

So can assume that Hills beat AEH on Day 1.

In the other semi it was Murray Towns v Southern.

In a dead rubber yesterday, KI made 139 batting first v TVCA. The hosts got the runs 6 wickets down, with about a dozen overs remaining.

I think know one will disagree with you here 'jackpot jim' some strange fixturing for every club. Another example is strath in the a2's play woodside in 2 of there last 3 games. Having teams having more byes then the other makes it hard to know where everyone is sitting on the ladder leading up to the finals with 1 day and 2 day averages being used to even it all out. You should have a chat to the new fixturer i think you know him fairly well!

A&EH probably lost both games because they did not pick there team on form just on past reputations and with the majority of the side on the wrong side of 30 it made for a poor fielding side

Had a chat to him Saturday about it. I fully understand it's a very difficult job and the program is Ratified by all the club delegates before the deason starts so it is what it is. The ONE REAL blunder was the NON programming of a match between Creeks and Lobethal in the A2s which was acknowledged by the programmer as a GENUINE Oversight.
It's vital next season that the 'A' Grade is 10 teams which makes for a complete round of 2 day matches but then some clubs will whinge about there being no 1 dayers then. 8 teams is probably the ideal No. but cant see that happening with 14 clubs in the Assoc.
