Are the Burgess who took 8 wickets this week and the burgess who hit 130 odd last week brothers?
If so could imagine a few tough games of back yard cricket over the years. This leagues been blessed with siblings over the years, johnsons, moseys,... great stuff.

Certainly some fine examples Mongoose. I would also put the Camilleri brothers into this category with the Burgess siblings. Not sure if Puppet Gerhardy had a brother...

Indeed puppet has several.... however he's the only one in the clan to have taken 7 fors as both a left arm and right arm quick. Something I'm guessing he even has over the youngest burgess... but its only fair as im betting he hasn't changed a tyre (or driven a car) for well over a decade.... so brett would have him covered on that front.

Kevie Thomas does indeed live in Alice and works up and down the railway. He has been in a decent paddock when I last saw him a few weeks ago, so have we all. Having chatted to him I can't see him playing seriously if at all in the near future.

Barossa and Light Cricket Association - A1 Grade
Main Ladder

1 Gawler Central 9 0 7 0 2 0 62 2052 73 1551 105.12
2 Angaston 9 0 6 0 3 0 64 1898 89 1832 96.78
3 Freeling 9 0 5 0 4 0 82 1675 81 1813 82.95
4 Sandy Creek 9 0 4 0 5 0 81 1866 75 1895 73.66
5 Kapunda 9 0 4 0 5 0 77 1849 70 1658 72.49
6 Light Pass 9 0 4 0 5 0 72 1703 61 1931 69.23
7 Gilbert Valley 9 0 3 0 6 0 74 1511 82 1689 61.51
8 Nuriootpa 9 0 3 0 6 0 84 1449 65 1634 57.49

Yesterdays results have thrown everything wide open in the race for the final 4 and relegation.
I would say Gaw Cent and Ango have wrapped up finals participation, Freeling have avoided relegation.
Any thing could happen with the teams from 4th to 8th, ranging from winning a flag to playing ressies next year.
Was disappointing Gilbert Valley couldn't complete the kill of Nuri yesterday, Nuri still has a heartbeat but IMO remain favourite marginally over Light Pass to go down.

2/1 Nuri
25/10 LP
4/1 GV
8/1 Kap, SC
50/1 Fre
500/1 Ang
1000/1 GC

Barossa and Light Cricket Association - A1 Grade
One day Ladder

1 Angaston 6 5 0 1 38 1139 56 951 72.59
2 Freeling 6 5 0 1 47 1077 55 927 71.77
3 Gawler Central 6 4 0 2 38 1144 46 906 60.64
4 Light Pass 6 3 0 3 39 960 28 1136 45.20
5 Sandy Creek 6 2 0 4 48 1077 43 1209 39.37
6 Gilbert Valley 6 2 0 4 46 878 50 1037 38.78
7 Nuriootpa 6 2 0 4 50 936 41 907 37.56
8 Kapunda 6 1 0 5 50 986 37 1124 27.26

With one round to go before the Grand Final, Ango appear near certain to play in it.
They will more than likely play Freeling who only have to overcome LP this week.
GC need to defeat GV and hope Freeling loses badly or that Angaston lose and only make 100 and take 5 or so wickets against SC

Does 2 losses in a row for GC constitute the wheels starting to fall off?
They have lost to the 2 teams that are emerging as challengers to the title that seemed their's to lose only 3 weeks ago.

One day premiers
2/1 Ang
25/10 Fre
5/1 GC

Season Premiers
3/1 GC
4/1 Ang
10/1 Free
12/1 Kap
15/1 GV
18/1 SC
40/1 Nuri
50/1 LP

I think its great to see the competition so even, makes every game interesting. This weeks conclusion to the one day games will be interesting with most games having an effect on how the four will shape up. Can anyone tell me whether there will be semi finals and final or is it just the top two. Theres only one date set aside for finals in January

Top 2 only, no semi's.
Big chance for Nuri to get off the bottom this week, Kapunda will have a fair few missing

There's no doubt the A1/A1-R concept with compulsory promotion relegation has resulted in some tight ladders in recent years. Much better than the old 10 team A1 comp where a couple were always well off the mark. And I think it helps level out the other grades a bit too and remove the dominant sides from A2's that used to exist.

Dont think so, matches either side of christmas, time of year when a lot of other stuff is on peoples minds.

GC look to have a favourable run home, and i'm sure they will begin stringing together some more solid performances. A couple losses wont do them any harm, helps them realise that there are other teams out there around the mark and it wont be the walk in the park they perhaps thought it may be.

My money would be on them being there come business end of the season..

Nuri off the bottom.
Premiers to Ressies in 12 months seems a distinct possibility for GV.
Some very interesting results yesterday, were they playing on a tennis court at Sandy?
620 runs in a day is amazing, some very low scores in the round aswell, Freeling really have become the one day experts. Should be a good GF on Sunday, the class of Ango should see them get over the line though. They meet on Saturday in the 2 dayer aswell in a quirk of the draw

Wow, Tigers looking vulnerable all of a sudden.
On a side note with everyone having phones with internet nowdays how hard is it to atleast post scores on a Saturday night on mycricket? Would take about 30 seconds.

With todays weather in mind is there a rain day set aside for the GF or are Freeling crowned the Kings in case of rain?
Looks to be a chance of rain next weekend

Freeling win in that case, ironically the last time there was no semi's was in 2006-07 whne Nuri defeated South Gawler from a washout
