Now we are done for the season (and thank f**king god we are done, very though season) we now look to moving associations I like the look of this alot Bedgie, would be nice if we can alot into Grade 2, ideally that's what we would like to be but I understand if the PDCA don't want us put straight into Grade 2. I think much of our decision of coming across would be based around which Grades the association would be looking to put our four (hopefully) grades into. What you have there is pretty much what I would go for, the D grade in a one day comp would be much appreciated although might be a bit of a bug bear in terms of team selection and the obvious, blokes sandbagging and only wanting to play one day cricket.
Going off topic slighty- Personally I would only have us playing one day cricket, personally I think one day community cricket would be easier for everyone, one day games make selections much, much easier and from my experience having a bat and a bowl in the same day and getting a result every week makes cricket much more enjoyable. I know many of the guys I play with feel the same although I think that we are in the minority and the associations aren't going to change the structure of the type of cricket we play overnight.
Not being spiteful, I genuinely want to know- If someone can tell me exactly why the majority of community cricket is 2 day cricket please tell me.
The ASCA's fixture was a huge positive, 8 team comp playing every team twice in a one day and two day match, one at home/ one away was fantastic and having test match weekend and Australia say weekend off this season was great too. We were spoilt with that I reckon so it will be interesting to see how the PDCA structure the fixture for 19/20. The fixture you posted above looks good, after getting it this season we simply must have test match weekend and Aus day weekend off IMO.
I was having a chat with one of my team mates tonight about the move- he asked how many umpire do the PDCA have and what grade do their filter down to? Do G1, G2 and G3 get umpires each week?
