umpires

Postby lightningstrikes » Tue Nov 13, 2012 8:18 am

I am not sure about umpiring standards in A grade cricket- I can only go on hear-say

in b grade there are 4 umpires that do the job regularly- most of which are pretty good

That said some decisions are woeful and influenced strongly by the teams playing- sometimes resulting in some terrible decisions
Its all part and parcel of the game- they are human and so are players

If the players dont agree i think common sence should prevail and just give a little warning unless-
1- its a repeat offender
2- they carry on like real twats

Sometimes the heat of the game, the heat of the weather and many other things ust ge ton top of u

In scotty macs case, he seems like a decent guy and a little bit out of character fo rhim- be interesting to see the result there

Common sence (sic) should prevail before a player shows dissent and he should just walk off. It does in professional cricket and those guys have a lot more riding on the umpire's call.
The revolution is just a t-shirt away

From larrys spill on the incident it seems like the umpire had no choice but to report the player. Wat was scott macs record like where he used to play anybody know?
Think the circus tent should have certainly been put up in the last two seasons but if you
put it up now there would be no clowns as they are no longer on the committee.

You're right about that, I heard that some of the club delegates were real clowns last year, haven't heard anything about this year as risdonz don't attend the meetings

Reported once in a SF after a rank LBW decision. Hit a bin with his bat. Missed the GF and premiership.

That's 1 incident in over 200 games for his previous club.

Lol. I thought you would of learnt to let some remarks go through to the keeper by now as you say. You get very defensive when previous committees get a mention about bei.g very ordinary. One would think you ,could have been part of it the way you bite. Dont know just assuming as you come in pretty quick.

Im sure you know i am talkin about the three puppets that were running the ppca last year. I should have said excecutive committee. You should go to the meetings for risdon then as it will save them having to pay up for not going, or would you rather be on this site and see your club get penalised all the time? Cmon help the poor club out.

Yep fair enough you tried to help ppca that is great. People mostly whinge when things are not being done properly which was happening if my sauce is correct. Too many to mention and anyway no good to go back over bad times. Good that you tried to help though. I thought most clubs just give their players vouchers now to get a beer after the game? Yep all hush hush about the moonshine but can you tell me if its uncle Jessies, beau and lukes recipe?
