Yeah it's one reason why i've tried to bat 9-11 over the past half dozens seasons - one is for red ink haha, the other is coz people want to feel like they have a part to play, and i dont care if i dont bat if it keeps them happier.

Some people good enough to keep the red ink from being an opener.!!!

Especially in Grand Finals/Semi Finals anytime of the year really..............................thanks for the oppurtuntity.

The one in Grade 2 was indeed a fine knock.

I’ve been away for work so didn’t attend the pre season meeting last night, but I think the fixtures will come out Monday night and same make up as last year with 4 two day grades and 4 one day grades, although there was whispers that may only be 3 two day grades.

Craigmore have requested to drop out of Grade 1 as well, and Central United I believe arent fielding a two day side - I swear if Enfield are forced up a grade again to plug a hole I’ll ******* flip

They will, they have always been soft when it comes to the divisions they play.

Some great people at that club but for some reason they constantly take the soft option as a club.

6 teams per Grade, I'll keep saying it.

Infact, here's their chance to just enforce it without prejudice, it has to happen eventually.

Grade 1
Westies
Parkers
Vale
Virginia
Gardens
NEK

Remaining two spots
Craigmore (want out)
Units (1 dayer only)
Riverside (1 dayers only, if they exist)
Enfield (no, judging by Bedge)
Pines (I think they'd prefer the easy flag first)
Royals (nope)
ATCO (will be lucky to be Grade 3 standard)
Smitty (LOL)

It's going to get ugly.

Atco will be handy this year, couple of decent pick ups, new coach. They will be around the mark in div3 for sure.

They'll be div 2.
Who have they picked up? I know Knoxy is coaching but haven't heard of anyone going there, only departures.

Can't reveal just yet but Knoxy being coach obviously points you in the right direction :)

If we are bumped up, it will mean Enfield has gone from Grade 5 to Grade 1 in 5yrs without ever winning a damn thing. To be honest, whilst playing as high as possible is ultimately our goal, we do want club success as well - our A grade haven't won a flag since '87 and constantly being pushed up isn't helping our chances, in fact if anything its to the detriment of the club long term.

Plus our top 5 batsman last year:
1. Rackebrandt - 287 runs, not playing as often this season due to wife returning to work from Mat Leave.
2. Bedgegood - 216 runs, reluctantly playing.
3. Channa - 180 runs, not playing.
4. Zia Ul Haq - 166 runs, not playing, gone to Walkerville.

5. Singh Gill - 127 runs, playing

Top 5 bowlers last year:
1. Rackebrandt - 42 wickets
2. Bedgegood - 25 wickets
3. Channa - 22 wickets
4. Miller - 21 wickets
5. Luke Goodman - 9 wickets.

As if we didn't lack depth enough last year, and struggled for runs, suddenly take out 3/5 batsmen - 2 also who are key bowlers, and it's a very dire situation.

Riverside were meant to have a trial against Gawler Central tomorrow but have pulled out because of numbers.

Hopefully it is just because it's a long weekend and they can exist as a one team club for a year and rebuild after that.

Mate, I don't blame you at all for not wanting to.

Where's McEwan playing?

At this stage Brenno is playing with us still, but he's not keen to play 2 day cricket, and with a new bub due end of year along with house build, his commitment level is uncertain at the moment.

Fair hike now too.

Have heard they are really struggling but a couple of decent players who had left them may return if they guaranteed to have side rather than see them fold.

I think they'll exist.
