LOL @ Steadman being old and overweight.
But it is true that Groom is inferior and would struggle even in A&EH thirds. He has proven over the past three seasons that he can't bat, bowl or even keep now.

A Mylor-Echunga merger isn't the dumbest idea though (certainly better than the failed takeover by Gators in the early 90s), but it would have to be in HCA. it even makes sense geographically, but most important is the link with a footy club.

But it is too late to do it for 2010-11 as both clubs members would need to agree (two-thirds majority needed at Mylor) and those at Piperland who probably most want itt would need to pay their outstanding subs to be eligible to vote anyway.

1 day cricket is the priority for the Mylor Cricket Club and with Adelaide Hill Assoc not able to guarantee a mix club has now gone into a protest.

Very interested by this move. IIRC, when I used to play in the A&EH there were rules against players from other associations playing, and we often had to play guys under fake names. Does this rule still exist? If so, I take it after Rd 1 players will be stuck in either the A's/B's or the C's. Movement between the B's and C's will not be allowed?

1. Jimmy Warbs and Andy Sendy fast becoming the Dynamic Duo.

2. I am very sceptical of your creditability C U AT THE CREASE .

If this is true , what a backward step for a club that was moving forward over the past 5 years at a rate of knots.
Not even a B Grade premiership defence. I would say that Mylor CC if this is the direction they have chosen to go will be history within 10 years.

Interested to know who has left the club.

I am very sceptical of this info. might need confirmation from "Pipers".

lol gold. But way off the mark

Can confirm that you wont see Mylor in the A grade, half the boys from the GF last year wont even commit to playing in the B's this year, let alone A's...

So now thats settled, what about Happy Valley? Heard they didnt even show up to the HCA AGM. Are they fielding an A grade?
And Stirling have lost Cuipido, so will they bother or just field a strong B and C grade?

I think if the Mylor committee stopped asking the players what they felt and just nominated for A Grade most of the players would play.
Almost the whole eleven who have been involved in the B Grade flags over the past 3 years play football.
Who doesn't feel like having a rest after footy season , but as has been the history for the last century we all drag our sorry bodies out for round one of the cricket season. Why Because the alternative is a shopping expedition with the missus on a saturday arvo to watch her try on 1000 pieces of clothes.

Just nominate and they will play. It's time !

Latest mylor news is that no A grade is the most likely outcome. Apparently A Cooper is playing at Mt Torrens with footy mates, Bawden taking break for a few months and may be back after Christmas, Agars, J Warburton and Maslin only keen for C grade, Fleet as non commital as usual. The word is also that gifford is not likely to return either.

This will leave the pipers with a very tame bowling line up of al Cooper, steadman and warby. May be that they will have to chase down some big totals this season

Did hear that a few players were more than happy to make the jump to A's with the likes of gaunt, steadman, Fielke and even captain warby leading the push. Seems that the power brokers at mylor are happy to stay with the status quo and not take the risk to move the club forward.

If all of the above is true then I think we may see a re shufffling at the top of the ladder in the b's this year.

Still undecided on 3 or 4 teams. It will depend on numbers.

First training on Sunday and there were a few new faces around who may strengthen the A's and B's a little.

Any TVCA news lads?

What I've heard...Kersbook may struggle to field a side. Lobethal looks as though they may lose 1 or 2 of last year's team (my heart bleeds for them.. 8) ). Woodside appear strong with Johns and Wescombe back. Mt Torrens active in chasing players.

We were supposed to be kicking off our preseason tomorrow arvo
SAFC- 60 years...
StKFC- 58 years..
