Yes training starts tonite at Adelaide Oval. Jeff Rogerson is the coach of the ATCA U21 team and he does a fantastic job. This is his third year and he always works hard to ensure he gets a good side to represent ATCA. A couple of years ago he and Wayne Phillips organised for the ATCA U21s to play the SACA U17s on Adelaide Oval No. 2.
They play for the SAMCA Cup and are scheduled to play 3 games against PDCA, Adelaide & Suburban and Churches and Community. The last two years Churches & Community haven't got an U21 team up, but hopefully that changes this year. Standard is pretty good. There isn't a lot between the 3 teams that have competed in the last two years - some very good cricketers

Is it a true indication of the best U21 cricketers in ATCA? Or is it the same as the open age ATCA team where quite often not the best players in the comp play (often due to not making themselves available)?

I would say it's the best available team ATCA can put together. All clubs were given plenty of advance notice about upcoming training sessions. If individuals opt not to participate then that's their call. Not much you can do about it although Jeff is pretty proactive in chasing talent. I'm sure PDCA, Adelaide & Suburban and Churches & Community are in same boat. At the end of the day the standard of cricket in Under 21's last few years has been pretty good.

No we don't. the way it's looking at the moment, there is going to be a tight squeeze of about 8 or 9 clubs fighting for the top four, so every win is crucial.

Will Gepps Cross win a game this year?

My tip is that Blewett will fail.

IO is that the same Beazleigh playing for you guys that played at Gepps and Two Wells?
There once was a bloke named Fracka,
Scored runs since he was a young tacka,
But alas not anymore,
his shot selection's been poor,
and now they call him QUACKA!!

No mention of the past players day at the club on Sat mate? Might have to make an appearance, would want to see some cricket going on though.

Definately head up mate. From what I'm hearing it should be a good day, plenty of old faces making an appearance.

Bally has quite a few connections with other clubs also (Gepps, Modbury). We haven't had him for a few seasons, so no doubt he has used his influence to get this game, but trust me, he has never been kind to the Hills. If anything he is quite the opposite. Gadey usually umpires in the northern suburbs as you would know, and is always fair. I guess there aren't too many umpires around that don't have an affiliation with a club.......................but it does look suss! ;)

I would expect Ryan Tremain, Locky Sandercock and Matt Sandery from Ingle Farm to form a big part of their bowling attack...

Plumb, nice result on the weekend. I shoulda stuck around after tea, looks like it wouldn't have taken that long to take the 10 wickets. Good turn out for the PP day, good to catch up with former team mates.

Was a good result Masha! Gepps Cross are a rebuilding team with plenty of young faces and hopefully for their sake they can stick around for a few years and put some good results together. Was good to catch up and a good day for the club.
