Slogging ive played on both ovals for many years. My opinion is the memorial oval PITCHES are a hell of a lot better now days at least. Have you seen the amount of runs scored up there? Sides batting second chasing down big totals. Port oval outfield certainly better thats for sure.

Had an interesting chat with a close friend today regarding the post by slogging succliff and the story i got was quite diffrent. As a keen cricket follower who has no ties in port pirie cricket i was quite discusted in the version i got. If my source was correct as he usually is, I was told the south port player in trouble was well in his right to be angry. With south port defending late in the innings and asking how many runs required by risdon, I was told the risdon captain gave the wrong amount of runs needed on more than 1 occasion. Now I dont know the lad in question but if this was the case he and his club should be quite dissapointed in his effort. Would be interested to know how close to the truth my source has been.

Think its about time you,your club,committee and players took a look in the mirror and faced facts that you have serious problems and stopped passing the buck and looking for someone else to blame as you all do. I would say your club is selfish by not fullfilling your commitment to have a side ready to play and stuff a lot of other people around who are doing the right stuff for Pirie cricket.

i did try and play a grade your right, i think i was coming 3rd in the grewar medal, and 2nd in the wickets, at the christmas break that season, if my memory serves correctly, but enough of a b grade scrubber trying to big note him self. when you realize that there is no chance of winning a premiership unless you play for 1 of 2 teams it becomes a bit pointless, doesnt it?

Couldnt say phantom as i have not played in your league. Just noting that scott macintyre couldnt make a run or get many wickets while he was playing A grade in Port Pirie. Albeit a really good fellow i have heard from some mates around town.
