Its been a great week for prep down south here.
A's chasing 176 against hectorville.
Should get them easy. Wicket's a belter.

No pressure on the batting lineup now!
All out 65 is my bet.

Incredibly sad news tonight , hearing about the passing of Rocco Illuminato.

Condolences to all involved at the Pooraka Cricket Club and the wider ATCA competition.

Here’s some mail around A2 that I’ve heard. Some may be just rumours.

Unley – New coach Tony Adams. Ex player and coach. Hearing they’ve lost their big 4 from last year. Geddes, Fraser retiring, Possibly Carrik-Smith to Adel Rockets (loads of ex AHOS there) and Niblett abandoned them on eve of finals last year.

Gee that doesn't sound very promising for Unley. Tony Adams ...... Seriously?

Not the best start for Tony's lads. 3 innings for scores of 164, 109 and 86.

Incredibly sad, far too young and talented.

RIP Rocco

Had many a battle on the field but that’s where it always stayed. True competitor with serious talent.

Gone far too young.

Horrible news this morning! RIP Rocco. Was always a pleasure playing against you, normally fetching the ball from all parts. Serious talent gone. Thoughts are with all involved at Pooraka and the Illuminato family.
Common sense prevails with the game being called off at Payneham today, not sure about the other grades..

Wil black arm bands be warn across the competition today?

Black arm bands worn and minutes silence observed by Ingle Farm, PAOC and umpires at Rowe Park. Very sad.

Interestingly Payneham entered the scores into mycricket this afternoon as a forfeit by Pooraka.
Thankfully David Heyzer went in and changed it to a draw shortly thereafter.

Fairly poor form from Payneham to try and claim the win.

Unfortunate as it is i can see Payneham's point of view if they try claim a forfeit.
Situation is a difficult one as the rest of the comp played.
I can't see how the ATCA can do anything but employ a forfeit.
Sadly.

I think the ATCA can use discretion and award a draw.
If payneham really have a problem with that then come out and say it.
They'd get slammed!
Its a draw end of story.

Real bad look for Payneham if they have done that intentionally.
Good to see atca teams getting behind pooraka. A feared club on field but there is a lot of respect for the players.

Black armbands were worn by both Para Hills and Port Districts on Saturday. We have a few blokes at the club who were quite close to Rocco, absolutely devastating news. Thoughts go out to the Illuminato family and the Pooraka CC.
