Still a few clubs left in the TVCA the last time I checked...

But yes, if Lobey and Woodside depart, the odds of TVCA defending the title next year would be rather remote.

Pathetic effort from the reigning champs. Blame shouldn't be singled out for the skip and the whole side should have a good hard look at itself. But if a change was needed, perhaps Ryan Hunter should take over as skip?

Something must have happened there cos Kris Dawe is nowhere near the class of Hunter. Can anyone explain?

just for the record, just because there were 10 players from woodside and loby doesnt mean that there aren't any good players any where else in the league. they just like to look after each other.
im guessing the same thing might happen with meadows and the hills side...?

how many did dawe make in the game then?? proof is in the pudding. hunters last 5 yrs vs kris dawes last 5 yrs? hunsie wins by a mile. kris dawes highest score last yr was 37 and he is ahead of hunter.....pfft. looks like if your from meadows you are given some special treatment! hunters avg of 40 is still far better then williamsons avg of 20 yet williamson bats higher. go figure

Not sure if you follow the website cricketlad but Kris Dawe last 6 scores 68,52*,25*,68*,55*,106 makes him the inform batter of the competition mate. He may well of failed but everyone did but on your assumptions Hunter and Mossop open the batting next year, its not under 12's?

Its my understanding that Ryan initial asked to bat at 8, so if he wants to bat at 8 someone has to bat above him? Perhaps if you know him so well you could ask him?

Dont think any of us would be complaining if Hills won which they have the last two years. I still know which team i would rather be a part of.

Couldn't agree more cricketlad. Hunsie has been a class act for nearly a decade in the Hills comp and should never have been batting behind Dawes and others. Sure Dawes average is high but when he usually bats for Meadows the games are usually over and it's junk time for the batsmen. Perhaps they should give the captaincy to someone outside Meadows to make it fair, as losing as badly as they did on the 1st day stunk.

Geez you guys have it in for Meadows dont you??

Perhaps a couple of you guys should pick the team and coach them?? Be interested to see what your teams would be, perhaps you should post your teams up??

Clearly they played like crap but to say that has something to do with team selection is wrong.

I think everyone is missing the point just because dawe batted infront off hunsie it doesn't mean that dawe is a better batter or cricketer than hunsies, as hunsie is a class cricketer and has got the job done for the last 10 years, the batting line up doesnt determine who is a better cricketer or batter, its picked on what is required for the team on the day.
As for dissing individual players and captain for the loss in myer shield, that s pretty low, because hills have won the myer shield 3 out of the last 6 years including back to back the last 2 previous years, with 10 of the players from last years winners playing in this years team, all i have to say and experinced cricketers would kno cricket is a funny game.

Give us your 11 in batting order then mate. Lot of people on the same opinion of where Hunter should bat in the order, let's see yours. I know Hunter would be in my Top 5.

Hunter would be up there for sure. There aren't that many good bats in the Hills Comp now with Kemp finished.

H Reid
D Brown
R Reid
K Dawe
R Hunter
N Grbin
J Mossop
T Williamson
C Dawe
M Sinclair
A Galvin / DuBois

From 5 down all could bat anywhere.

I think you have to remember Cricket is a game of opinions. The Hills team should of won regardless which order they batted they had the players to do it. Nick Grbin would not of made any difference at all the team was 6/20. The team has to be picked on form to some degree and past performances in Association years have to be taken into account. Kris has the best avergae in association cricket (stats are on the Hills Website).

I have checked my sources and Ryan did request to bat down the order so surely that is end of argument no one is doubt his ability at all definately not me.

Ive put up my list how about you boys go ahead now?
