Stumps called.
11:45am start tomorrow.
PAOC to bat the remaining 9.5 overs then Pooraka will have 80 after that.

That might not be enough, but as they say .... runs on the board!

I fear you are correct
Dent out second last ball with the lights on which hurt badly.
Nick Clayfield still there and they need another 50+
Game on with the two best teams......

In A3, Old Iggies made 8/233 off their 80 overs. Humphris 70 and Carey 52. Game on - SHOC have made 2 scores of 300+ and four blokes making 100s this season. Should be a great day down at Somerton Park.

Pooraka 5 for 72 chasing PAOCs 216. JJ and Duval the last hope for Bulls

Prince Alfred OC Cricket Club has emphatically claimed the ATCA A1 Premiership trophy after dismantling Pooraka in a classy allround performance by 111 runs.

With the game evenly poised overnight, the Reds dominated the crucial opening hour of play, adding 33 runs to its overnight score of 7/183, before uprooting the vaunted Bulls top order in a dominant display with the ball.

On a surface providing assistance for seam bowling all weekend, PAOC’s attack stifled the traditionally free-scoring Pooraka batters, while claiming regular wickets

Jack Dent struck early, claiming the key wicket of Bulls captain Jye Bailey when he skied a ball into the safe glove of fleet-footed keeper Michael Richardson.

Nick Clayfield quickly made his presence felt, sending Steve Marks back to the rooms after inducing a thin top edge through the keeper.

Earlier in the day, Bulls run machine Mark Hanson had hobbled from the ground after suffering what appeared to be a leg injury while bowling the second of PAOC’s ten remaining overs.

He returned to the middle to bat at number four but was joined by a runner shortly afterwards.

With off-spinner Shishir Ramakrishna brought into the attack to test Hanson’s footwork, it was at the other end where Jack Dent took up the attack and claimed Jason Nuske’s scalp when Max Burford stood under another skied ball from a cross bat shot to hold the catch. It left the Bulls 3/27, but with Hanson still posing a hefty question mark.

Again, it was Dent with the solution. Hanson thrust a pad but no bat at Dent and was adjudged lbw, leaving Pooraka in tatters at 4/32.

The Bulls added only another 14 runs when Nick Clayfield claimed his second victim, Jake Pocock falling lbw for 9 directly after dispatching the previous two deliveries to the boundary.

Pooraka were limping to the tea break, but their most promising partnership between Chris Duval and Jamie Jarrett gave the visitors faint hope, adding 25 before umpires excused players from the field.

Upon resumption, the Reds were callously ruthless. Chris Duval was completely deceived and clean bowled without offering a shot to Ramakrishna. 6/74

Sam Tyler, charging towards his fifth Saturday Premiership, got into the action, dismissing Bulls top scorer Jamie Jarrett after creating an edge that flew low and hard into the safe hands of skipper Jack Latchford at second slip. 7/78

Ramakrishna claimed his second wicket when Shane Virgins looked to loft him into the outfield, but couldn’t beat arguably ATCA’s most decorated fielder, who held an outstanding running catch. 8/88

Jack Jarrett soaked up 34 balls before edging Dent to Keagan English who held a smart chance. 9/105

Ramakrishna ensured the wait for victory celebrations were short, with Bulls number 11 Brandon James falling first ball, also caught by English. Matt Travis finished second top scorer for Pooraka, unbeaten on 14.

Pooraka all out 105. PAOC 111 run winners. The trophy the Bulls had won the last three years was back in our hands.

Lachie Griffiths was named man of the final after his brilliant innings of 83, the enormity of which was underlined by the fact no other player in the game scored more than Sam Tyler’s invaluable 31.

It completes a sweep for the Reds this summer after an equally dominant victory in the ATCA T20 competition, also over Pooraka.

Richardson and Tyler are now the club’s most prolific Premiership players with five flags each.

One can only ponder on the enormity of Hanson’s injury. One player who can win a match off his own bat.
Having said that, he still needed partners

Trinity have gone back to back with a 140 run win over marion. Big name players couldn’t seem to cope with the pressure as Marion fell 3 Down quickly but the wiz and geddies got it to 130. Enter jace ohara. Tea time scored 4/150 at tea but within 6 overs the game was over... jace demolishing the tail finishing with 6... what a year

I saw a terrific final 3 hours of the B2 GF today at Marion, culminating with the last pair for Old Scotch putting on 16 to get the blue bloods home by 1 wicket with 10 balls left in the day. Old Scotch 9/208 d Marion 9/207. Those last 3 hours ebbed and flowed with "the lead" changing several times. Tough weekend for Marion with 3 teams losing GF's. Their other team, the C2 Minor Premiers, lost their semi-final by 1 wicket last week.

A2-
Trinity too good
Toss was massive.
Trinity batting first are a different side. Batted first 8
Times this season.
Marion shelled Cameron on 4. Made 111. Game changer.
Umpire error gave Trinity all the momentum after tea on Saturday.
Trinity will be a contender next season, but there will some
Massive scores out there next year.

Great innings by Jarrod Inda's in Ingle Farms B1 GF, batted the innings to be not out 60 or 70 odd.

Well done lad, if only someone could hang around but the opposition never let a new batsmen get settled.

Well earned by them.

Is there any truth to the rumour that Mark Hanson, Jye Bailey and Steven Marks are going back to the Northern Jets next year. Also heard that Jack Jarrett may join them. Could be a very different Pooraka side come round 1 next year.

I must admit this has been growing legs. I have heard this a number of times since seasons end. Huge loss for Pooraka and the ATCA if true been very good for a number of years. Bowlers would welcome the news with open arms id suggest.

Lured by all that money that they don't spend on players? Hard to believe that will happen.
