Happy 2011 everyone, solid times!!!

Now got a question cause ive been playing senior tennis for the last 22years and as this is my first year at senior cricket unsure about a certain rule!!?
When the ball is bowled and 3 players are behind square at point of delivery it,s a no-ball..is that right..?? BUT if you only have 2 behind square but after the ball is bowled a third player who from in front of square runs and catch,s a ball from behind square it,s not!!??
Is that right folks?????
Just to finish that point to have that many players close to square im guessing not to many balls where bowled in the batsman,s half...haha!!!

Another topic.. went through Mt Compass Saturday night and dropped into the club for a beer, and spoke to a bloke you guy,s may have played against ...future C2 player Alex Num...who still tells me he,s a gun...must be a small gun cause does he ever do anything ..let alone the fact he thought he was a gun in the first place..!!! Anyway the little $hit bought a couple of wickets(hey jonas brothers...) the second of which...so he says was beautifully flighted ball that drifted and spun back sharply wide of off stump!!!.. what the..(never let the true get in the way of a good story) anyway the batsman instead of smashing him through cover, tryed to drag it and hit to midwicket only to sky it and be caught at mid on..."that old chest nut".. Anyway as Nummy gets his hat the umpire(T.I.) says..."**** Nummy that,s $hit" SINCE WHEN CAN THE UMPIRE SLEDGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! $hit batting Num-gun...says!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok folks stay solid, nib,s it up til next time!!!!

Words of Wisdom, perhaps you should check your facts before you come on here making stupid comments. I can guarantee that nobody from Pt Elliot has been on this site bagging the lads from Pongy. The truth is that we admire Myponga because, like us, instead of taking the easy option of playing 'B'Grade cricket we try our hardest to field a competitive A Grade side to give our players the opportunity to play at the highest level they can.We understand that we dont have the class of some of the other sides in the comp but we never give up trying & make sure we always stay positive on the field regardless of whether we are going to win or lose. You ask, "have the wheels fallen off at Blood land"? Most definately not my friend. We may not be getting the wins we desire but we will continue to push on & try to improve as individuals & as a club in general. Maybe if you pulled your head out of your backside you might find that the Port Elliot Cricket Club is actually a great place to play cricket & off the field is heading in a very positive direction. Sorry about the rant lads but I will not take unfair criticism of a club who always treats others with the utmost respect.

Please.... i did not disrespect your club in anyway, enjoy playing Elliot & a beer after. Read the post, i said i could be wrong. It was just referring to previous posts that Pongy should be playing B grade. Pongy beat someone above them so i had a dig for a bit of fun. I also just asked a question if the wheels had fallen off or if you guys weren't that good as i haven't seen you play. I got a response, it is a forum. I was more after a bite due to the lack of posts more than anything. I never intend for my posts to be taken like that Bloods, never to serious mate.

Can't fault that side. Probably have to have Big Bruce Elliot in there as he'll probably win C.O.Y.
Can you pick a B grader? A.Bennett is a handy cricketer.

Great side WoW! All legends of the GSCA and a bloody great bunch of blokes too! No massive egos or arrogance there! Reckon D.Burgess might get a gig though! Not sure about Showy! Haha!

Burgess would be in there for sure. Goose from Yank (they had a gun batsman down there too).

It was a toss up between Showy, Nathan Green & Serge Minot for 12th man!!
