Hey, im not tied up with MCC but I have known him since i was knee high to a grass hopper and his fuse is very short obviously it was set off

OK mate. I'm just annoyed with blokes like that in the sport when the game is clearly struggling to attract numbers.

Congratulations to Barry Fry in earning an Order of Australia Medal today for his services of cricket. Barry has served the Grange Cricket Club for 60 years and has been instrumental in Grange's domination of the ATCA for the past couple of decades. Barry would have to be up there with the late and great Keith Duke (Payneham) as one of the longest ever servants of his club involved in the ATCA. Both he and Duke are/were fantastic gentlemen who I enjoyed the pleasure of meeting during my time in the ATCA. Congrats to Barry thouroughly deserved and our great game needs more blokes like you.

Cricket is a weird sport. We battle our guts out with our best team for the first two T20s and get smashed, play the third with 9 players nowhere near the strength of the first two and shit it in? Maybe we should not care about the As and may play finals!

It will need to be above 42 for play to be abandoned for A1 to B3.

Former Richmond & Clarence Park player & ATCA umpire David Lee has passed away at the age of 44.
"Sleezy" will be missed by many.

Very, very sad day.

Still to this day remember him hitting one of the biggest sixes i have ever seen against us at Goodwood oval which went up and over the grandstand with ease and I reckon it was 3rd ball of the day.....

Absolutely tragic !!!! :(

Shocked & saddened to hear this, a good bloke & a good umpire (some may say a rare combination!) We at the BCC definitely respected his umpiring & enjoyed his company over the past few years.

RIP Sleazy

After the success of the Queensland Flood appeal "Bash4Cash" day we were asked by a lot of people if we could/would make the Bash4Cash an annual event.

I am happy to say that we have started organising a day for next season - aiming to be held on Sunday, November 20th, 2011.

I have sent emails to the ATCA, PDCA, C&CCA and B&L Cricket Associations asking for them to support the event and we are hoping that this can become an annual event and we can use the day to raise money for a different charity every year. The coming event will be raising money for the "Haemophilia Foundation of Australia" (HFA). I have already been in contact with the HFA, who are extremely happy to receive our support. http://www.haemophilia.org.au/

If you, your employer, or anyone you know, is interested in helping organise the day please PM me or email me at bash-4-cash@hotmail.com

Days like this could help change people lives so please lets gets this off the ground and show, yet again, what amateur sports can do for those in need!

Rumor has it that Kilburn have removed their A & B grade sides from the comp, and will find out tomorrow whether their C grade can remain.

Is this the end for Kilburn?

Yeah I've heard they've already pulled their junior teams and the turf wicket is getting dug up at the end of the season? Very sad if true.

I know it's not their choice. Council's choice. Want to put in a hard wicket and save on labour/costs.

Council will lease the ground out to another club. Kilburn would then have to find a ground to play on..
With so much time, effort and money put into the square, there is no way the council will rip it up.
