Didn't appear to be a lot of love for Eastern Park in the room.

N.E Knights application got accepted.

They may well have been told that behind the scenes, but at the meeting the PDCA board said that no decision had been made yet.
I'm just passing on what we were told.

Pretty reliable source mentioned to me NEK and possibly Enfield into Grade 2.

Also Adelaide Warriors want to come out of the two day comp back to one dayers.

Considering that the Board is only elected at the AGM they wouldn't have been able to hold any meetings to promise any team what grade they would be in other than teams playing last season would have a very good idea where they playing this season subject to promotion and relegations. Plenty of rumours out there, can't believe them all.

Why was it rejected?

These applications are accepted / rejected by a vote from the clubs, so no reasons need to be given by each club who voted to reject it.
There were a couple comments about whether they would be able to field a team at the end of the year due to football commitments, but not much else.
There was no one from EP Seniors there to respond to the comments which probably didn't help.
In recent years PDCA have been happy to accept clubs that are based further south, so to knock back a club that is in it's traditional area is a surprise.

At very least if EP were serious about it a representative should have been there

Churches comp maybe?

Hey guys, firstly, as captain of NEKCC A Grade for the upcoming season thank you to PDCA and it's member clubs for accepting us into your association. Hopefully we can make a good account of ourselves and have a positive effect on the competition.

With the season fast approaching we are keen to have a trial match maybe a couple of weeks before the first game? If any clubs are interested, please email me at pistol211@yahoo.com and we can work out details.

Sounds like EP are having another crack at re joining PDCA, trying to organise a meeting with the exec to support their application.

be interesting to see if the clubs change their mind and let them in, not sure what grade they think they'll be in.

I guess you'll have a vested interest in this outcome, it took long enough to get a couple of your young lads back and would hope they'd stick around for a while, it baffles me that you guys finished 7th, on paper you're as strong as any.

Craigmore will be the big improvers this season.

Why would an association ever knock clubs back? Surely the more the merrier and the stronger the association.

Southern Cricket Association knocked a couple of clubs back from memory. Then several years later a couple of their clubs headed south or north and they folded.

Probably because last season the other clubs felt that EPFCC held the PDCA to ransom until the 11th hour and then pulled out their senior sides.

There are many clubs that don't like Eastern Park as they are pretty chirpy. I personally love the onfield banter followed by the beers afterwards.

I guess other clubs like the idea of a bunch of very talented young lads are on the market.

Throw in the fact Eastern Park has been an administration rabble for the last 5 years, not completing my cricket, forfeiting finals, pulling out teams mid season, not supplying umpires once out the finals in lower grades etc

The club itself doesn't even want cricket there so why should the para districts clubs want them there

That can change in a flash. Only need to get 1-2 decent people in charge.

Fast forward a few years if more clubs drift to ATCA or even ASCA expands and the association may regret their stance here.
