And if Redbacks don't make Shield Final, then Travis Head probably plays for TTG, will make it hard for Southerns then.

Would be good to see Southerns win, but TTG are so strong and bat so deep, they surely win this pretty easily.

Gary Putland available?

Still think TTG have too much firepower with both bat and ball. It could well have been a different story if that 7th wicket partnership went nowhere. Those still to come are hit and miss with the stick.

Putland announced retirement after doing his calf against us few weeks ago, realised his body is shot.

Agree re TTG, if Somerfield got out could have been a Kensington premiership!

Who is everyone's pick for first, second and third in tonight's Bradman count, as well as the Rising Star?

For me its:

Bradman Medal
1st - Simon Roberts
2nd - Josh Barret
3rd - Alex Carey
Rising Star - Greg West*

*Being and interstater may count against him, but the weak field should help get him over the line.

Oops haha hutchy has been good for us, dudley and gutschke only 1 score each in A grade if i remember rightly. West probably wins it. Watch out for Lloyd Pope, he has shot up from Cs to As at Kensies and roles them out real well.

News from Bradman Medal last night - looks like Putland will play after all. Their fourth bowler has bowled 4-6 overs only over last few games, so they may as well take the risk and play him, if he breaks down again they have not lost much.

Word also SACA won't let Travis Head play, TTG not happy about this and will fight it, as obviously Travis wants to play as is a real TTG club man.

Roberts a deserving winner, the all rounders medal continues! Carey missing last two games cost him. How did Roberts get all six votes in last round though??

It's amazing what you overhear at a night like the Bradman.

A few of the WT guys seemed to be in some real serious conversations with a number of different clubs. Even overheard a "Even if (WT) are in the comp next year, X player and I won't be there."

Shortly after this the son of a SACA decision maker claimed to be taking the two players and "their juniors" to the Blacks.

Will WT keep even half the players from this year's 1's, next season?

Someone said that they think it will be a Wood-WT merger but not until the following season. So a stay of execution. Don't think that's a good thing. Would be even worse you'd think to have the death of your club dragged out with other clubs feeding off the carcass.

WT basically went through this for the whole season. Now they will have to put up with it again.

It will be happening in time for next season. SACA are under pressure from CA to get this done. Think they were hoping that clubs would organise this on their own but it looks like they are not.

Several board members are playing straight bats to any questions on the matter with no decision has been made yet. In that case they should be voting on it at the March board meeting in 2 weeks.

As much as everyone wants it to be done and dusted ASAP, the general consensus around the comp is that nothing will be in place until the 2017-18 season, not next year. This thread is the only place, along with whatever room Geoff Turkey is in, that thinks it will be in place for next year.

Absolute disgrace that West Torrens should be mentioned as a team for extinction. No club should be forced to merge in reality including Woodville and Port. How WT are even mentioned for amalgamation or extinction is a joke. Should be a vote of no confidence. If the SACA are adamant that Uni are not going to West Beach then they should be made to sign a document that prevents University moving to West Beach or having juniors for 25 years. That will soon sort things out.

If WT were so keen to keep their club as a club and not merge or die then they should simply accept SACA's $5mil and join ATCA.
Clubs have moved between comps in the past and will continue to do so in the future.
