I think a 40 degree heat policy and beers should def be allowed.

When i was playing juniors and started playing seniors, they used to actually serve jugs of beer at tea break and i knew some blokes who the drunker they got the quicker they bowled or further they hit the ball! Was common practise lol! By the time the game was over half the blokes were drunk so u could guarantee a good turn out at the club which in turn meant more money for the club.

However since most clubs dont have a clubroom then i guess this isnt feasable..

it MUST be 40 for at least the higher grades. if you cant handle the heat, dont play Div1 or Div2. SIMPLE !!!

On a previous post, there was the notion of 4 divs, with a one day comp (im assuming div5?). This would be a bad thing as most junioors play in Div 5, so we are shooting ourselves in the foot in the absence of a junior comp. Lets breed our boys low and bring them up when we can IMO.

8 teams per div would be nice, so long as we played each other twice. You cannot possibly have a season where you play a team once only...therefore might be best to keep to 6 in the absence of better and fairer suggestions.

Port will let them play but it will be limited games and they wont play finals. This club has also lost there two leading bowlers from last year.

so do we take it that you are still looking at leaving this comp. It would be a shame over a couple of issues.

Not sure our club can ill afford not to play cricket when it is over 38 degrees. It costs us money. If our comp had the same playing conditions as Para Districts and Suburban it might be different. Even in attracting better cricketers, we have had a least two not return, because of the 38 degrees clause.
