Interested to see who they take away to Melbourne, going on the side that played PDCA and seeing as you have players like Reidy, Clarke, Giglio, Gully, Feltus to add to that squad who you think will miss out? Surely good money would be Gully, Bedgegood, Feltus and Subramanian?

Wat are your thoughts? do you pick a Gigs or Reidy on name over say a Bedgegood or Gully who are proven? Do you reward commitment and effort or do you pick the strongest Div 1 players?

Personally i think Reidy and and Gully, Giglio im unsure whether his body could handle 5 days of cricket...

Im a supporter of the Amatuer Footy league, is that the same Reidy that plays for Div 1 side Goodwood Saints? so gigs and reidy are not proven? havent heard of Gully, what div he in? any good?

Not 100% whether he plays for goody. I have no doubts about Reidy and Gigs ability at all only doubt is fitness on Gigs side. Reidy was captain at last championships i believe.

Gully plays div 3 at Enfield, quality all rounder, left arm opening bowling and good bat has played a lot of assoc games and seems to play well all the time, played in the championships last time as well.

So do you take a gamble on a giglio over a gully is the question?

I personally think Reidy should be there.

i think the point i was trying to make was more that Bedgegood and Gully have played in the champs before and done well, everyone knows abt Giglio and Reidy and their abilities and wat they are capable of, do you pick a guy who has done ther job in the past or a guy who potentially is better? dont know if it makes sense :D #-o

Phantom, you question whether Giglio can handle 5 days of cricket. If there is a squad of 13 then he probably would not have to play every game/day. So on this basis I would pick him over somebody like Gully. Glad though that I am not a selector.

Gday outsideedge! Im sorry but i think its more realistic that you once played for the Fitzies but moved on to turf. As a former player you would be aware that Fitzroy never plays its best cricket before christmas because we have players in and out like bloody yo-yos. After Christmas is when we play our best because we have our best players all playing and have settled sides. Im sure you would know how hard it is to captain a Fitzroy B side when you have to make 4 or 5 or 6 or more changes every week. Hopefully your concern for our club is genuine and not mischievious.

I also hear you are a good mate of Outsideedge. He is a Golden Grove man. I would say this is his second season out there.

Michael/Autowicky, not sure where your coming from but I have yet to captain a side in cricket and I do not know carey18 either. I am sure carey18 is a wonderful person in his own right but we are not linked in any way. It is obvious you believe me to be someone and whilst this may indeed be true in some form you are a little off at this point in time.
I am also not being mischievous, merely making enquiries to gain an understanding of things which I hear from time to time.

gday carey18! I talked to you last weekend and will introduce myself next weekend. I remember playing against you guys in 2003 or 2004 or something. We played you in a semi and you had us cold early, something like 3 for ****. Just for the record i was out LBW off the bat. Anyway we ended with a decent score but you batted well the week after and got closeish. What happened to all the players from that side? From what ive been told we tried to recruit a few.

i think i remember that game. did i make some runs that day?. We always just had 13 or so players and a couple of them had kids and it got to hard. I was best mates with Phil Watson. A few of the guys are at Northeasternights, Jim, Dave Placcuci and Andrew. The others dont play anymore

Autowicky, Hi there yourself.
Thanks for your concern regarding my playing/non playing - I hope it is good natured and not mischievous. Not sure why it bothers you though. Does everybody at your club play every week of the season?
