You do play at MclarenVale isnt that correct,
Laughed my guts out when i heard compass smashed the teary eyed VALE to make 300 odd in a final
Maybe we should call you the Flats.

Encounter Bay looking the goods over willunga, should chase that down

The club is called McLaren Districts, hence referring to them as the 'Vale' is disrespectful to all of the McLaren Flat connections involved over the history of the club. Anyone who knows the history of the club will know that all of the best players came from the Flat anyway! ;)

and I'm certainly NOT one of them!

interesting to see enc bay collapse today in 1st semi, even though they got close got sum work to do if they want to make back to back grand finals let alone premierships. And what about compass are the finding there mojo 300 in a final is sumthing if they keep that going they will be hard to stop

Aahhh, very nice work Ferret. Having a dip at somebody's IQ when your spelling & grammar is about Year 8 standard. Keep up the good work champ. By the way, what is your batting average mate ? I will tell you this Ferret, I would take Hamish in my team any day of the week as the lad gives everything he has to his team mates week in & week out & while he has some flaws to his game (as we all do) he continues to develop his game to the point where I believe he could be a future GSCA Cricketer Of The Year. On another note, congrats to the evergreen Serge Minot on an outstanding hat trick in today's major semi-final to lead his team into the grand final in 2 weeks time & relegating Encounter Bay into a knock out final against a very confident Mount Compass side. Played on the lush outfield of Port Elliot next weekend this should be a cracker of a game with my money to go on the lads from Compass in a very tight affair.
Never hide your enthusiasm for winning out of fear of a disappointing defeat.

Pretty silly to have a go at McLaren if ur club havnt even made the A grade finals! Use some common sense guys!

On the teams left in the finals, I am gonna go with Willunga, have been the best all year! However don't down the Bays, spoke to someone down their today and they are still confident! Are a talented bunch of cricketers just gotta pull it together!

Massive game this weekend between Encounter Bay & Mt Compass! Compass have all the momentum coming off a great win against McLarenvale... & Encounter Bay looked flat on the weekend, dropped 8 catches and had a horrible batting collapse which saw them go from 0/40 to 5/40, cant expect to win games with stats like that occuring... still only went down by 13 or so runs though! It will be good to watch the Compass batting line up against the Bays bowling attack... The Bay bowlers will need to contain the likes of Connor, Dzamko & Nash... Have heard that Lintern injured his knee on Saturday, didnt return for another spell with the ball, but seen he made runs on Sunday so im guessing his knee is all good to go! Another worry is Moules may not be playing this weekend as he has footy commitments, that would be a huge loss! I think that if Compass win the toss & bat first & post anything around 250, then the bays are in trouble... But... If the Bays bat first & post anything over 200, then i think the Bays bowling line up will get them home! I think the main question is, can the Bays post a total, their batting hasnt been too good of late, can Beveridge go on with one of his starts and not get out for 20 or 30 like he has been, can Lintern continue his great form with the bat... they just need support from the middle order & they need to play as a team... Encounter Bay in a close one for mine!

Good Luck to all lads left in the finals!
McLaren werent good enough against a rejuvenated compass on the day.
Bays are dangerous and Compass can beat anyone on a good day.
All the best lads!, Seya next year

Compass got up in a great game of cricket at Elliot this weekend. Lots of twists and turns. A real arm wrestle with neither side staying on top for too long. A real credit to both clubs. Saturday saw a real disciplined bowling performance by Compass to match Ryan Edward's disciplined batting display. Cam Lintern played a great knock to post a very competitive 207. Sunday saw Compass starting pretty well to be in a strong position before a Bays fightback to make the last dozen or so overs very tight & interesting. Dzamko made a stoic 47* along with 37 & 38 from East & Spurls. Some lusty blows from Lewis & Hicks saw Compass over the line. Should be a great contest next weekend vs Willunga .... and just quietly, Aaron Moules can seriously bowl!!! The fact that he is still just a pup is a scary proposition for opening batsmen in the years to come!

A's, B's & C's all in Grandies next week. A great effort by the club. Hats off to 'Groundskeeper' Willy Dalitz for his 120* in the C's yesterday. A maiden ton at 45 y.o. keeps the dream alive for hacks like me!
